ThickenersFull range of centre shaft and centre pier drive units with rotating rake arms mechanisms. Choice of several types of support systems, for a variety of advanced thickening or clarification operations in all process industries. Lighter duty versions are available as well. Possibility of design of a total flowsheet.

Reactor clarifiersReactor-Clarifier™ units are designed and built to provide the most economical solution to precipitation and clarification requirements. This is a multi-solid contact technology which provides special performances for overflow clarity, potable water treatment and water softening, brine clarifications and many more. The basic machine design provides for coagulation, flocculation, solids recirculation, clarification and positive sludge removal in a single basin - eliminating the need for multiple tanks and associated piping. All units are multiple tanks and associated piping and are backed by over 30 years experience in engineering and manufacturing assuring the best fit to unique plant requirements.

High rate thickenersA compact thickener for high capacity thickening which provides performs well in applications like copper concentrates, carbon/pulp feed, mine water, uranium CCD process and many others. Features proprietary feed-wells that assure maximum thickening efficiency by intensive flocculation. These feed systems allow for achieving roughly 12 times the throughput of conventional machines of similar size while substantially reducing water consumption and saving on flocculant costs.

Paste thickenersDeep Cone® paste thickeners produce underflow solids with a paste consistency and the highest solids concentration of any thickener on the market. Deep Cone thickeners are state-of-the-art solutions in today’s sedimentation processes and applications in base metal tailings, phosphate slimes, CCD circuits, diamond slimes, power plants with fly-ash and gypsum.

Traction thickenersModification of the centre pier type unit with rake arm rotation by means of drive system mounted externally at tank periphery. Used in handling various industrial and metallurgical thickening applications where particular topography or climate permits or favors this type of external drive.

Dorr-Oliver Multicompartment thickenerThe unit consists of a cylindrical tank divided into a series of trays which are stacked in individual settling compartments. Individual rake mechanisms located on a common centre shaft serve each compartment. Parallel operation for simple

thickening or series operation for countercurrent decantation can be arranged within the same unit. Each unit can hold up to six compartments. This thickener is best applied to pulp mill recausticizing systems and cane or beet sugar juice. The multicompartment thickener saves space and provides large savings on building costs.

Horizontal indexing belt filterWhere a rubber belt is not accepted by the process, such as with food & pharma solvent applications, the indexing belt filter (IBF) is the best solution. On the IBF the filter cloth is supported by a steel / plastic deck and remains stationary during the filtration step. Duration of filtration steps can be adjusted based on the process condition. After filtration, the vacuum is released by means of pneumatic actuated ball valves, the cloth is moved and washed, while the cake is discharged.

Press belt drum filtersCombines a vacuum drum filter with a press filtration zone. Ideal for dewatering suspensions such as pigment, thixotropic and fibrous slurries and also materials with a tendency to form cracking cakes or containing compressible or porous substances. Maximum combined linear roll pressure 600 N/cm drum length. Filtration areas up to 50 m² per unit. Produces a very dry cake.

Dewaxing filtersSpecial gas tight drum filters for separation of wax from raw lube oil and for deoiling of wax. Filtration is done at temperatures of minus 15°C to minus 45°C in solvent suspensions. Dewaxing filters conform to highest international oil company standards with regard to gas tightness, mechanical availability and capacity. Dewaxing filters are also available with complete lube systems.

Horizontal rubber belt filtersMainly used in mineral processes, metallurgical ores, power wastes, chemical and food processing, this belt filter assures the continuous filtration on a horizontal surface consisting essentially of a filter cloth

supported on a continuously moving rubber belt. Cloth washing from both sides, efficient cake washing in several co- or counter current steps, variable belt speed to control cake thickness. Rubber belt is supported on a roller assembly. Areas may reach up to 120m2 of actual surface.

Horizontal pan filtersHorizontal rotating table for suspensions with fast settling solids without cloth blinding properties. Continuous filtration and cake washing. Cake discharge by scroll, moving the cake over the edge of the table into the discharge chute. Applications in mining and metallurgical beneficiation, and in the chemical industry. Filter sizes up to 80m².

Rotary drum filtersFor separating, washing and dewatering of solids out of a suspension and for separate discharge of mother and wash liquor. Cake discharge depending on its characteristics by means of scraper, roll and string.

Available in open, vapor or gas tight execution and made from all customary materials like high-alloy stainless steel, steel rubber lined FRP, titanium, etc.

Pneumapress® FiltersPneumapress Filters are ideally suited for liquid/solids separation in many industrial processes including mineral, metallurgical, starch, gluten, gypsum, biomass, DDG, paper and pulp, pharmaceutical, food grade, and sanitary processes. Simple design and function ensures operational reliability along with lower maintenance and utilities costs. Pneumapress filters can be customized and tailored to customers specific application needs.

Pneumapress Filters provide the highest throughput per unit filter area exceeding other tower-type filter presses. They are also made of the simplest and most abrasion resistant construction, providing low maintenance and downtime; there are no true technical parallels to Pneumapress in the minerals field.

AFP Filter PressAFP IV™ Automated Filter Presses provide a simple, rugged and reliable solution to the special problems associated with the demands of various process slurries.

AFP filters provide high throughputs and efficient solids capture, they must operate continuously in harsh environments, handling highly abrasive materials with minimal attention from operations and maintenance staff.

Shriver® Filter PressShriver filter presses are industrial grade heavy-duty machines, designed for long life, low maintenance, easy operation and cost effective filtration. Ful-Vane™ CompressorsFLSmidth’s Ful-Vane compressor offers many benefits compared with other compression technologies, including long compressor life-cycle, low energy consumption and low maintenance costs.

Ful-Vane compressors provide more compression with less energy, due to more efficient capture of large air flows. Only three moving parts minimize mechanical losses and the constant blade-to-cylinder contact maintains efficiency. Our innovative shaft and bearing design minimises drive losses, and the inlet/outlet configuration minimises internal compression losses. The Ful-Vane compressor is suited for operation with variable frequency drives.

Our compressors are available in a full range of single-stage and two-stage compressors; from critical parts to complete self-contained packages. Packages may be custom built to project specifications or FLSmidth standards. In addition, we offer standard designed Ful-Pak air compressor packages for sizes C135 and larger. Ready for installation with only cooling water, power and air piping connections needed.

HydroseparatorsA heavy duty machine which separates solids into fine and coarse fractions in the range of 5 to 200 μm. Used in a wide range of applications where a large pool area is required and the oversize or coarse fraction does not have to be thoroughly dewatered or washed in one operation.

Bowl desiltorsConsist of a comparatively shallow flat bottomed tank or bowl, equipped with rakes. It is used to recover relatively fine sand overflowing the washing unit in several industries. Bowl diameters are up to 15 m and separations range from 45 to 150 μm. Machines are mainly used in steel plant scrubber cleaning systems to remove grit and in some applications to scalp off oversize solids before thickening.

HydrosizersHydraulic up flow classifiers for producing a range of high quality solids fractions. Classifiers with up to nine connected classifying chambers. Slurry flows through the sizer longitudinally, from pocket to pocket with coarse to fine solids separation occurring in the direction of flow.

Rake classifiersRectangular classifier tank with inclined channel, equipped with reciprocating raking mechanism which transports the settled solids towards the upper discharge end. Solids are dewatered and, if necessary, washed by addition of wash liquid.

Screw classifiersWEMCO Classifier is designed to settle and dewater relatively coarse particles from high volume, low percent solid streams. The special design of this unit also permits it to hydraulically transfer surges in flow of up to 2.200 m³/h of wastewater without overflowing.

Curved screensFeature uniformly slotted concave wedge wire screen surfaces for separation or classifying of solids in suspension. Continuous tangential feed either by gravity via an overflow weir, or pressure fed - depending on application and separation cut. Ideal for high capacity, fine separation of fibrous, non-abrasive solids in food and pulp and paper processing.

Krebs® cyclonesThe Krebs Cyclone is a low cost, free vortex centrifugal device used for separating solids from solid/liquid suspensions. Krebs Cyclones are used to concentrate feed slurries to centrifuges and filters in order to increase their capacity or to permit the use of smaller machines of lower horsepower. In many chemical process applications, cyclones may be used in place of centrifuges, filters, gravity settlers, or other more expensive solid/liquid separation devices.

Cyclones that are used in the chemical industry typically have a continuous underflow discharge but they can also have accumulator tanks on the underflow for applications where the feed solids concentration is very low. Krebs offers cyclones that can make separations from approximately 10 microns and larger.

ODS pumpsCompressed air operated diaphragm pumps. Spring or air cylinder provides high suction lift. No motor or stuffing box required. Used in many process applications for slurry pumping or feed proportioning and metering. Available in four sizes. Body material choices cast iron, stainless steel, or cast iron lined with Hypalon® or Nodel®.

DORRCO pumpsRugged duplex diaphragm pumps which permit stroke adjustment while in operation. Designed expressly for handling thickened underflow from sedimentation units. Handle up to 120 m³/h of pulp at maximum stroke, depending on the pump size.

EIMCO filtration pumpsCentrifugal pumps for filtrate handling/pumping under vacuum condition.

The pumps are directly flanged onto the filtrate receiver body with a conical impeller, constructed with open, snail-type vanes rotating “freely” inside the receiver. The EIMCO filtrate pumps are self priming pumps, not requiring any fluid level control. They eliminate the need for barometric leg solutions, offering a simple, efficient, space saving arrangement for filtrate handling. The pumps are provided with a water lubricated mechanical seal on the pump shaft.

Also available in stainless steel execution for food and pharmaceutical applications, corrosive chemical and /or rugged industrial applications.

Fuller-Kinyon® material handling pumpThe Type M Fuller-Kinyon pumps are heavy-duty, screw-type pipeline chargers. These pneumatic conveying systems are used to transfer dry, free-flowing, pulverized materials from grinding mills, transfer materials from silo to silo, transfer dust from collectors, and load and unload railcars, ships and barges. The materials are conveyed literally anywhere a pipeline can be run and to any number of delivery points. Distances of up to 4,500 feet (~1,375 meters) are not uncommon.

Fuller-Kinyon Type M Pumps are constructed of cast iron and steel, and mounted on a cast iron base. Type M pumps are equipped with ball bearings that support a pump screw at both ends to help provide a smooth, balanced operation. The screw is dynamically balanced. Areas of the screw, and other parts of the pump that are in direct contact with the material to be conveyed, are made of hardened, wear-resistant material and special hard surfacing. The screw is directly coupled to the driving motor but can be v-belt driven.
