Cheetah Characteristics
It’s a mammal because it has live
babies. When it moves from den to
den it has to get used to the food
chain because there might be
different prey. It’s a carnivore, it
eats meat. They eat gazelles.
Cheetahs also eat faster animals.
Cheetahs have camouflage so they
aren't seen as much.
Cheetah Habitat
• They mostly live in deserts and grasslands. Grasslands have mostly grass. Cheetahs live on ground. There are hot summers and cold winters in Asia and Africa. Trees and shrubs are mostly absent.
Why is the cheetah
endangered?
• The biggest threat is of habitat loss due to human encroachment.
What if anything is being done to protect the Cheetah?
• People pay to feed them, and get them medicine to help them.
• People are making symbolic adoptions.
Cheetah Fun Facts
• The cheetah is the fastest animal on land, it can
run about 70 miles per hour.
• When it sights prey, it begins to stalk. It creeps
as close as possible before the attack.
• Cheetahs that are little stay with their moms
for 12 to 20 months.
