Piscatio II Ordered Nov 2004 Delivered June 2005 Robert’s first 6.9m was a basic Stage B build which he fitted out. Piscatio II was powered by a single 90hp outboard fitted port side and featured a stern shoot on the starboard side.

Piscatio IV Ordered March 2010 Delivered June 2010 Robert purchased the roomier 8.5m after selling the 7.9m to a fisherman in Cheetah’s home harbour at Ventnor. Following delivery he has fitted a mast, navigation lights and electronics along with a second engine.

Robert comments:

On fuel consumption

• Fuel consumption is very good, burning about 15 litres per

engine at 3800 rpm achieving 16 knots on a 16/17 mile round

trip hauling 140 creels along the Moray Firth on the NE coast

of Scotland. The fuel consumption is one of the big pluses

owning a Cheetah, the hulls really are fuel efficient

On resale:

• I didn't buy the boats with the view of upgrading but on

seeing the good resale value of the Cheetahs I was tempted to

try and sell the first 6.9m . I had no problem selling and could

have sold it a few times over. I also had the same experience

with the 7.9m one.

On the next project:

• As far as the future, who knows! I would certainly have no

hesitation on buying another Cheetah as they are great boats

built by a good company with an excellent reputation for

producing first class vessels.

Project ‘Wetwheels’Project ‘Wetwheels’Project ‘Wetwheels’Project ‘Wetwheels’

Disabled yachtsman Geoff Holt, best known for his record breaking sailing adventures, has chosen Cheetah to supply a boat so that he and other disabled people can get out on the water.

"Choosing a Cheetah was a "no-brainer"

said Geoff. I have had several powerboats

over the years, but all lacked the ability to

go offshore whilst retaining stability for my

wheelchair and providing a comfortable

ride with protection from the weather. Plus

I need easy access onto the boat and I want

to be able to command the vessel from my

wheelchair".

Having visited the Cheetah Workshops and

having a run out in demo boat ‘Free Spirit’,

Sean and Geoff agreed the 9 metre

Cheetah with 2.7m beam was ideal.

“I'm really excited about this particular

boat because she will be called

"Wetwheels" and, although she will be my

boat, she will be MCA coded and I have

pledged to make her available to other

disabled people on a not-for-profit basis. I

want her to be used and for other disabled

people to share the enjoyment I get every

time I go out on the water. I have been

overwhelmed by the support I have

received from suppliers who have donated

to make this dream a reality. I must pay

particular thanks to Cheetah themselves

but also to Suzuki Marine and Raymarine

plus Trident Foams and Seaglaze.”

Cheetah has built numerous catamarans designed for wheelchair users both as passengers and as the skipper. Dolphin III (top left) is based in Poole providing day trips around Poole harbour. Left: Tim after a day out seatrialling with Sean on 8.5m ‘Green island’ Below: ‘Hadron’ designed for Vic Toy a wheelchair user & skipper who was involved in designing the Hadron Collider in CERN

Piscatio III Ordered Nov 2006 Delivered June 2007 With increased beam, the new 7.9m featured a central stern shoot and a semi open wheelhouse. Robert collected Piscatio III in June 07 on the original trailer supplied by Cheetah Marine for the delivery of Piscatio II.

‘Free Spirit’ is Cheetah’s own trip boat which can take out wheelchair users for pleasure rides
