Materials are shipped to par- ticipants on a regular schedule to be tested for analytes of interest by each laboratory. Results for individual ana- lytes are reported using specified AAFCO method codes and units to allow for analysis of the performance of individual methods or method types. Laboratory data are reported using the AAFCO Data Reporting Website. Reported results are ana- lyzed statistically and participants receive performance scores for each analyte and method reported. Report cards and consen- sus reports are posted for download from the Data Reporting Website. Extra materials from each testing round are offered for purchase as Quality Reference Materials (QRMs) or “past samples.” AAFCO supports laboratories testing feeds, feed ingredients, and pet foods with four unique proficiency testing programs that provide performance assessment for laboratory test results. Regular Check Sample Program The Regular Check Sample Program consists of monthly shipments of a commercial feed proficiency testing material. The series begins in January and includes a variety of feeds and supplements with nutrients, drugs, antibiotics, minerals, and vitamins at levels typically encountered in commercial products. At least once annually, a dry pet food is provided and once annually the shipment comprises both a feed ingredient and a mineral pre-mix supplement (two materials). This program is available worldwide. Pet Food Program The Pet Food Program consists of quarterly shipments of a pet food ingredient. The series begins in February and includes feed ingredients derived from animal or plant sources. Laboratories enrolled in only the Pet Food Program will also receive the dry pet food or canned pet food material offered in the Regular Program. Subscription to the Pet Food Program is available worldwide. Mycotoxin Contaminants Program The Mycotoxin Contaminants Program consists of quarterly shipments of animal feed or pet food that has been contaminated with naturally incurred mycotoxins. Mycotoxins that may be present include aflatoxins, fumonisins, deoxynivalenol, zearalenone, ochratoxin A and T-2 toxin. Subscription to the Mycotoxin Contaminants Program is available worldwide. Minerals Program The Minerals Program con- sists of quarterly shipments of animal feed, pet food, and food materials with both natu- rally occurring and spiked minerals at concentrations of health/toxico- logical significance. Minerals pres- ent may include aluminum, arse- nic, boron, cadmium, chromium, cobalt, copper, fluorine, iodine, lead, mercury, molybdenum, nickel, selenium, sulfur and vanadium. The Minerals Program is available worldwide. AAFCO supports laboratories testing feeds, feed ingredients, and pet foods with four unique proficiency testing programs that provide performance assessment for laboratory test results.

Regular Check Sample Program

The Regular Check Sample Program consists of monthly shipments of a commercial feed proficiency testing material. The series begins in January and includes a variety of feeds and supplements with nutrients, drugs, antibiotics, minerals, and vitamins at levels

typically encountered in commercial products. At least once annually, a dry pet food is provided and once annually the shipment comprises both a feed ingredient and a mineral pre-mix supplement (two materials). This program is available worldwide.

Pet Food Program

The Pet Food Program consists of quarterly shipments of a pet food ingredient. The series begins in February and includes feed ingredients derived from animal or plant sources. Laboratories enrolled in only the Pet Food Program will also receive the dry

pet food or canned pet food material offered in the Regular Program. Subscription to the Pet Food Program is available worldwide.

Mycotoxin Contaminants Program

The Mycotoxin Contaminants Program consists of quarterly shipments of animal feed or pet food that has been contaminated with naturally incurred mycotoxins. Mycotoxins that may be present include aflatoxins, fumonisins, deoxynivalenol, zearalenone,

ochratoxin A and T-2 toxin. Subscription to the Mycotoxin Contaminants Program is available worldwide.

Minerals Program

The Minerals Program con-sists of quarterly shipments of animal feed, pet food, and food materials with both natu-rally occurring and spiked minerals at

concentrations of health/toxico-logical significance. Minerals pres-ent may include aluminum, arse-nic, boron, cadmium, chromium, cobalt, copper, fluorine, iodine, lead, mercury, molybdenum, nickel, selenium, sulfur and vanadium. The Minerals Program is available worldwide.
