T&C CHECK LIST FOR FUME CUPBOARD

1.1 Check for leaks, loose fittings corrode pipes.

1.2 Check remote controlled services in the cupboards to ensure they are functioning.

1.3 Check all exhaust ducts for parts/component free from corroded or cracked

1.4 Check the drainage points plumbed into the ducts, especially along bends and horizontal runs and drain out any condensate stagnant in the ducts

1.5 Check stability of ducts

1.6 Check condition of duct joints for air tightness. Stress relieving joints shall be checked for good working order.

1.7 Check electrical motors (a) Check motor bearings (grease)

(b) Check condition of carbon brushes and slip-rings of all motors

(c) Check safety device fitted to all motors (d) Check alignment of motors with fans

1.8 Check the routine operation of all electrical starters, control panels, alarm panel and ancillary electrical apparatus

(a) contact point (b) electrical fuses (c) sensors or switches

1.9 Check exhaust blower fans. Check for overheating and test for worn bearing

2.0 Check the measure fan and motor speeds and the electric current flowing through the fan motor

2.1 Check anti-vibration mounting and ensure they are in good condition and functioning freely

2.2 Check terminal air velocity in exhaust duct

2.3 Check the stability of exhaust duct. Re-tension stay gays (ropes) of the duct
