Why Was It Enacted
To be eligible, an employee must:
• Have worked for that employer for at least 12 months
• Have worked at least 1,250 hours during the 12 month period
• Work at a location within 75 miles of the workplace (where al least 50 employee are employed at the location)
Who Is Eligible / Who Is Not
Leave entitlement (12 workweeks of unpaid leave in a 12 month period) for:
• The childbirth and care for the newborn
• Adoption / foster care and care for the newly placed child
• Care an immediate family member with a serious health condition
• His own serious health condition
