Dear CHCF supporters,
Having completed my first year at the helm of CHCF, I am still amazed at the breadth and depth of the programs that this amazing organization provides for New York’s underserved families. In a time when culturally competent organizations
like ours are faltering we have remained steadfast. It is no wonder, that thanks to our energetic and dedicated staff we have been at the forefront of cutting edge programming and advocacy this past year. I know that with your support, we will continue to build on our strengths by providing vital programs and timely policy initiatives to benefit the Latino Community.
CHCF will continue to be visionary and a critical, vibrant organization for the changing world we work in. Because of you we will have the capacity to seek opportunities to modify and improve our programs, evaluate their efficacy and embrace change. I am particularly pleased with our commitment to create new partnerships to reach new heights in our key project areas--education, youth development, culturally relevant programs and beyond.
Thank you for joining me today, and for your desire to improve the lives of children and families in New York.
Adelante!!!
Sincerely,
Grace BonillaPresident & CEO

Dear Friends and Guests,
Thank you for joining me today to celebrate another successful year in which the Committee for Hispanic Children and Families has continued its valuable work improving the lives of the Latino communities in New York. I am especially
grateful to my fellow Directors for their enduring support and trust in my leadership.
It has been a pleasure to work with Grace Bonilla in continuing to steer CHCF in directions that will best serve the needs of our evolving community. Perhaps many of you can appreciate that my passion for this work is grounded in the fact that the life circumstances of many people I’ve known personally were improved through services like those provided by CHCF.
While CHCF already touches so many lives, it is of the utmost importance that we energize everyone around us and continue the hard work in order to sustain and extend our current programs. So many families in so many of our neighborhoods depend on our help.
Thank you for your generosity.
Sincerely,
Gustavo MazzaChair, Board of Directors

March 22, 2016 Dear Friends: It is with great pleasure to welcome everyone that has gathered for The Committee for Hispanic Children and Families (CHCF)’s 16th Annual “Slice of Latina America” Gala. For the past 34 years, CHCF has worked tirelessly to better the lives of Latino children and families through its various programs and initiatives. In my Bronx community – a community that is very diverse in terms of culture, ethnicity and background, CHCF has been a boon for families looking for assistance. Its initiatives in youth development, early care, expanded learning and education have benefited those in underserved communities across our great state for more than three decades. These programs have truly extended a lifeline to those that need it most, and it will continue thanks to the advocacy and support of this great social service organization. On behalf of all families in the 77th Assembly District, which includes the communities of Claremont, Concourse, Highbridge, Mount Eden and Morris Heights sections of The Bronx, I thank CHCF for all that it does to help New York families. March 22, 2016 Dear Friends, Greetings to everyone gathered here tonight at The Committee for Hispanic Children and Families, Inc.’s (CHCF) 16th Annual “Slice of Latin America” Gala! One of the things that makes our city such a great place to live are the millions of immigrants, past and present, who’ve come here to build better lives for themselves and their families. Their hard work and culture, their struggles and triumphs, have helped lift New York up and make it one of the greatest, most diverse cities in the world. That’s why we are fighting today for a more equal and just New York – so that future generations can continue to pursue their dreams here and help make our city even more vibrant and stronger. On this special night of celebration, I would like to thank CHCF and its dedicated staff for the critically important work that they are doing to help uplift and empower our city’s Hispanic community. CHCF has been a powerful champion and voice for New York City’s children and families, and I look forward to continuing to work with them to help ensure that the needs and voices of our Latino community are being answered and heard. Congratulations as well to all of this year’s honorees. I hope everyone has a wonderful time tonight! Enjoy! Sincerely, MELISSA MARK-VIVERITO Speaker

March 22, 2016 Dear Guests of the16th Annual “Slice of Latin America” Gala: I would like to congratulate the Committee for Hispanic Children and Families (CHCF), on its 16th Annual “Slice of Latin America” Gala. For over three decades, CHCF has fought tirelessly to provide opportunities for children and families. CHCF has not only made it their mission to educate our most vulnerable Latino populations, but has championed the effort to advance Latino needs. In order to create self-sufficient communities, CHCF has developed a number of youth services and policy initiatives to continue building a foundation for Latinos. Whether CHCF is helping to guide families through the complicated process of choosing child care programs, providing after school programming, teaching youth advocacy skills, or advocating for neglected health issues, they have made it their duty to address it. Additionally, their grassroots approach has enabled them to flourish as one of the few Latino organizations that integrate direct services, with initiatives to magnify the voices of Latinos. The culmination of these resources has alleviated many hardships experienced by families, as they now have the tools to thrive. Their model of dedicated service is the reason we are celebrating sixteen years of CHCF today. It is my utmost pleasure to support such an effective organization, and I look forward to continuing the battle alongside CHCF. Sincerely, Annabel Palma Council Member District 18, Bronx

About UsSince 1982, The Committee for Hispanic Children and Families, Inc. has combined education and advocacy to expand opportunities for children and families and strengthen the voice of the Latino community. Believing that the most effective way to support Latino families is by building upon their existing strengths and fostering self-sufficiency, CHCF provides a number of services through
1919
Youth Development programs, an Early Care & Education Institute, and the Family Policy Center. CHCF’s model is innovative in its effective inclusion of cultural and linguistic competencies to effect change.
