Back to School Kevin,   As we enter the fourth day of school, our Broncos have settled in to their schedules, as well as the daily routine.  We have had a great first week so far and look forward to the next 177 days (yes, already counting :-) ).  Thank you to all of our families who attended the Bronco Round-Up and Open House to help get your student set up for success this year.  If you were not able to attend Open House and have not paid the $20 Student Fee, please do so in the next day or so to ensure that your student gets his or her agenda and locker.  Back to school information packs were sent home on Monday with students.  Please take a minute to review the information and send back the Blue Emergency Card and White Early Dismissal Form as soon as possible.  The letter enclosed in the packet explains the contents and directs parents to the CMS website for a variety of other forms and documents.  Lastly, please complete and return the PTSA volunteer form if you are willing to help with one of our many events throughout the year. We will host our annual Curriculum Night on Tuesday, September 8, following the Labor Day Holiday.  The event will begin promptly in classes at 6:30 pm.  Three sessions will be offered to accommodate parents who have multiple students in different grades, as well as offer the ability for you to attend informational sessions with your Bronco's Elective Teachers.  I look forward to seeing many of our families in attendance to gain some insight into what your student will learn about this year. Our School Leadership Team, PTSA, staff and students created a new vision for Bailey last year, "Inspiring Learners and Empowering Leaders."  This statement encompasses what we strive to accomplish daily with our Broncos and hope you support that vision as we move through the year.  Thanks in advance to our families and community for all that you will do this year for our Broncos.

STEM is revved up for a new year

The Nationally Ranked Bailey Middle School STEM team is hosting a Family Night fundraiser at Port City Club the evening of Monday, August 31st. 

In addition to dinner, there will be a cornhole tournament, silent auction featuring gift cards, event tickets, and merchandise from local businesses, and the team will be selling custom made tie-dyed Bailey and Hough t-shirts.

Golf Squad Fall at Bailey Middle is for both new and continuing 6th-8th grade students and provides weekly opportunities for your child to learn social skills required to enjoy golf, the clubs, and golf course (vocabulary, etiquette, rules, history, etc.) all under the instruction of a PGA Professional.

Golf is a great social sport, and can be played for a lifetime! So start early and start now...boys and girls! Even if your student already plays, it is great to get weekly, convenient lessons from the pro!

Target Debit or Credit REDCard  

Click HERE to be directed to Target's Take Charge of Education. Our school's number is 123695. Follow the directions to register your Target REDCard.   For EVERY transaction on EVERY item, our school gets up to 1% of the purchase.  

 Harris Teeter VIC Card  

Each School Year you have to re-link your Harris Teeter VIC Card.  Our school's number is 6083. Just give the cashier this number and ask them to link your card.  Have more than one child at more than one school? No problem! You can split up your link for up to five schools/groups. Every time you shop and present your VIC Card, the amount you spend on 

qualified items is automatically credited to Bailey. This year, Bailey has been selected as a partnership school, which means that we qualify for the Bonus Program plus other program benefits.  For every $100 that we raise throughout the 2015-2016 school year, Harris Teeter will match that with $100 in bonus dollars, up to $2,000.  Also, monthly Teacher Appreciation Deliveries available once our school reaches 250 TOTAL links. *Select Harris Teeter brands are considered qualifying items as well as prescriptions from their pharmacy.

Volunteers make it happen

Thank you everyone who has filled out a "Volunteer Opportunities" form and stepped up to volunteer this year! Volunteering helps great things happen for our students.  It is wonderful to see the parents willing to spend time at our school, but we can always use more! If you haven't signed up yet, there are many opportunities throughout the year.  Check out the weekly Bronco Times and our PTSA website for up-coming events. The school and kids need your time and talents!

Please remember to register with CMS before volunteering, and add Bailey as one of your volunteer schools.

Attendance reminder

You do not need to call the school to report an absence, simply email our  attendance secretary. If you are leaving or coming in late for a medical/dental appointment, please provide a doctor's note.  

Please remember our early dismissal cutoff time is 3:30.
