Conklin Post 28 in extending a heartfelt thank-you to Past Commander #100, Jim Porenta, for all his accomplishments and due diligence he gave to our Post this past year. Together, let’s continue to make Post 28 the best in the State of Michigan, and strive to make it the best in all the American Legion. Together, let’s get started on the next 100 years! LET THE CELEBRATION BEGIN! For the next 15 months the American Legion is celebrating our 100-year Anniversary! This year Legion members will receive, as an extra bonus with their membership renewal, a trifold loaded with information about Post 28. They are also available in the lounge. Take one! A list of dates is provided, of celebrations happening throughout the next year. But don’t forget to check the monthly newsletter for dinners, doings, and special lounge happenings! You may find it hard to believe, but Coast Guard Week is just the start of great celebrations available in the Tri-Cities area and Post 28 during the next year. So, check it out! The trifold also has information on how we can help each other at the Post. Volunteering is extremely rewarding! Some, but not all, volunteer opportunities and the contact persons are listed in the trifold. You will never regret giving your time and talent to our Post and veteran causes. We are fortunate at Post 28 to have a caring Chaplain and a team of three dedicated service officers to assist you or any veteran in time of need. The contact names and numbers are listed. Everybody hits a bump in the road. If you find yourself, or know of someone, feeling alone or do not know all the answers when there is a need, give them a call! They have helped hundreds of our veterans and are ready to serve. What was happening in the World in 1918-1919 that set the stage for members of the American Expeditionary Force to convene in Paris, France,on March 15-17, 1919 for the first American Legion caucus? Over the next few months we will talk about a few events that changed the world and led Congress to charter the American Legion on September 16, 1919. Respectfully, John Bilski, 101 st Commander Post 28 TRANSFERS Scott Cotterman, Gulf USAF David Trevino, Vietnam USMC Jason Gillis, Gulf USAF Susan K.
