Success can be measured in many different ways from trophies, to educational achievements, to workplace promotions but, sometimes you need measuring cups in a culinary arts kitchen to measure success. AtChef Myrna Betancourt’s Café Du Jour, at Chapman Partnership South, success is measured by being named Miami-Dade County lead Teacher of the Year.

Chef Betancourt teaches culinary arts to her students, ranging in age from 16 to 60. Her students are often disadvantaged, sometimes homeless, and always seeking a second chance to succeed. Chairman's Letter

A Roaring Good Time at 3rd Annual RunWild 5KRun / Walk at Zoo Miami

RunWild 5K Review

During 1995, when Chapman Partnershipfirst opened its doors to the homeless men, women and children of our community, no one would have realistically imagined that nearly 20 years later, we would haveachieved wide-spread national recognitionas a model for homeless assistance because of our exceptional success in caring forand rehabilitating the homeless. More recently, we have won Charity Navigator’s 4-star rating for three years in a row--- an achievement that only 11% of the nation’s nonprofits can claim. In 2013, Switchboard Miami recognized Chapman Partnership from among all nonprofits in the community, with its “All Star Award” for Leadership.

These recognitions are a profound reflectionof Chapman Partnership’s extraordinary, unwavering commitment to its mission by its

highly dedicated Board of Trustees, employees, volunteers and social service partners.

WORKING TOGETHER AS A DEDICATED TEAM,committed to excellence, we have been able to achieve a lifetime success rate of moving 64% of our residents from homelessness to self- sufficiency -- and that is more than three times the national average for such efforts.

Along the way to achieving such an astounding success rate, we have consistently chosen to excel beyond what is expected from a homeless assistance center by providing more than just an emergency bed and meal to our residents.

Since our founding, Chapman Partnership has been achieving positive, life-changing results for our residents through programs and services that include the following:

management for the 97,500 homeless men, women and families who have come to Chapman Partnership in their time of need.

and after school services for the nearly 20,000 homeless children we have admitted since we opened our doors.

through our two medical clinics, which have handled more than 166,500 patient visits and our mobile dental unit that has performed more than 76,500 dental procedures to date.

programs headed by two job developers who have placed nearly 400 residents into full- time jobs in just the last 12 months, with an average pay of $10/hour.

! "****+ serve 3 hot meals a day, 365 days a year for more than 800,000 meals per year.

These achievements are made possible only through the extraordinary efforts of our Board of Trustees along with our staff and volunteers, who are not satisfied with the status quo and who continually strive for goals that reachfar beyond what is expected. It is throughdedication to excellence and a passion for improving the lives of and empoweringthe homeless to become self-sufficient thatwe are able to fulfill our mission: to providecomprehensive services to empower homeless residents to become self-sufficient. I want to express my deep appreciation and respect to all the men, women and youth who have supported Chapman Partnership and made our organization a highly respected national “best practice” model for helping the homeless. We pray that all of you who read this message will continue your strong support of this critically important effort on behalf of some of our community’s most vulnerable citizens.

With sincere appreciation,

Trish Bell

Excellence in Leadership SWITCHBOARD OF MIAMI honored outstanding non-profit organizations at their Second Annual All Stars Non-profit Awards Luncheon last October. There are seven categories of excellence in which 5,000 Switchboard of Miami partners compete for recognition. Last year Chapman Partnership was recognized as the MVP or Most Valuable Non-Profit in Miami.

This year Chapman Partnership won for Leadership. The dictionary defines Leadership as the “ability to lead others by example.” This award speaks volumes about Chapman Partnership’s leadership in the following areas:

Leadership in board governance and fiscal responsibility. Leadership in having a strong and dedicated staff. Leadership in teamwork with our board, employees and volunteers working together with our partners to transform the lives of homeless men, women and children in our community.

Snow Day at Chapman Partnership! On a Sunday in February, winter came to Chapman Partnership, as part of Temple Beth Sholom’s Mitvah Day. All the children experienced a “snow day” and were treated to mittens, hot cocoa and plenty of snow!

Staff Spotlight South "What I love most about my job are the families and children. The children are so special, and are very affectionate. Sometimes the parents are so stressed that they don’t get to share that special bonding time with their children. I make sure to tell the children I see to tell their parents that they love them and to give them lots of hugs. I love this place, it’s a blessing." Lena Hudgens, Intake Coordinator.
