While jogging in the streets of Beijing you can watch what is happening on the New York Stock Exchange. In January you can eat fresh apricots from Chile. We are all interconnected in so many ways. 20 13EARLY HUMAN AND LIFESPAN DEVELOPMENT RESEARCH FACILITY Schmid College of Science and TechnologyEarly Human and Lifespan Development Research Facility, 544 North Cypress St. The Early Human and Lifespan Development Research Facility examines the interplay of biological, psychosocial and behavioral processes in pregnancy and their influence on maternal health, fetal health and early childhood development. The historic 1928 building that houses the facility is the last-standing schoolhouse in California that offered a segregated education to the children of migrant workers, a practice that finally ended in the state in the late 1940’s. Old photos and displays tell the story.
