What are you “getting” about what Peter is preaching here? What are you feeling? What do you need to do? How have you applied this message in your life? Pray. DAY 5 Read Acts 3:9-11 & 4:1-4 focusing on the Responders. How would you describe the different groups of people responding to this incident and their actual response? What was amazing? What was disturbing? If you were Peter or John, what would your response be at the end of the day? How are you responding to what God is doing all around you? Pray.

Changed Lives in the Name of Jesus Acts 3:1- 4:4

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere – in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 NLT

5 Different Angles on Changed Lives

1. God uses your worship as His witness. “Peter and John went to the Temple one afternoon to take part in the three o’clock prayer service. As they approached the Temple, a man lame from birth was being carried in...” Acts 3:1-2a NLT “Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it.” 1Peter 3:15 NLT

2. God knows beggars can be choosers. “...Each day he was put beside the Temple gate, the one called the Beautiful Gate, so he could beg from the people going into the Temple. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for some money. Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, “Look at us!” The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting some money.” Acts 3:2-5 NLT

“Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert.” Isa.35:6 NIV Love God ~ Love Others ~ Change the World

3. God’s power is found in the Name of Jesus. “But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” Acts 3:6 NLT “Through faith in the name of Jesus, this man was healed—and you know how crippled he was before. Faith in Jesus’ name has healed him before your very eyes.” Acts 3:16 NLT

4. God is ready to give you a clean slate. “Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and he will again send you Jesus, your appointed Messiah.” Acts 3:19-20 NLT

5. Changed lives create a religious disturbance. “All the people saw him walking and heard him praising God. When they realized he was the lame beggar they had seen so often at the Beautiful Gate, they were absolutely astounded!” Acts 3:9-10 NLT “While Peter and John were speaking to the people, they were confronted by the priests, the captain of the Temple guard, and some of the Sadducees. These leaders were very disturbed that Peter and John were teaching the people that through Jesus there is a resurrection of the dead. They arrested them and, since it was already evening, put them in jail until morning. But many of the people who heard their message believed it, so the number of men who believed now totaled about 5,000.” Acts.4:1-4 NLT

DAY 3 Read Acts 3:12-26 focusing on Jesus. What do you see about Jesus in this passage?
