To observe the change of state of ICE.

Method
What did you do?
Method:
1. We half filled a plastic cup with water and froze it overnight.
2. We tipped the block of ice onto the plate.
3. We put the lamps facing the ice.
4. We took photos every two minutes until the ice melted.

Results
What happened?
See
Smell
Hear
Feel
Time
Insert your
visual record.
Results:
We watched the ice melt.
While the ice melted, it moved on the plate and made a small cracking noise once.
The ice took 53 minutes to melt.
There was a plate of water at the end. Click in blue box to play.
![Page 6: Changing States Exemplar](https://reader036.vdocuments.site/reader036/viewer/2022082811/558e84df1a28abe66d8b4678/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
Conclusion
How did your results
compare to your
predictions?
Did anything go
wrong?
Why did this happen?
What could you have
done differently?
Conclusion:
The ice took a lot longer to melt than we thought, even though we had lamps on it.
It made a noise and moved because it was contracting.
It did turn into cold water when it melted because the room was warmer than the freezer.

Reflection
What did you learn?
What would you lik
e to
find out about?
How could you do
this?
Reflection:
I learnt that because lamps are warm they make the ice melt, and warmer temperature causes a solid to change into a liquid.
I want to know …..
Why don’t icebergs melt?
