Whether you choose to roll up your sleeves and volunteer for an hour, make a generous donation or start a conversation about the issues you care about, YOUR DECISION TO GIVE MATTERS! - Sharing your skills can help an unemployed father update his resume and find a job. - $5 a day can provide emergency shelter in a hotel, along with food, clothing and rental assistance to relocate a family of five left homeless in a house fire - $3 a day will purchase 155 boxes of glucose test strips for diabetes patients to monitor their blood sugars at home - Over 1,000 young people were prepared for success in the classroom - $1 a day will provide 2 weeks of nutritious meals for special needs or low-income preschoolers - $1 a week will provide one client with 4 hours of crisis intervention and domestic violence counseling - A $300 leadership gift to United Way can provide a scholarship for a pre-school aged child, living in poverty, to attend a high-quality daycare program and summer care program. When we went to Religious Community Services, they were able to provide a family room for us, but we were helped in so many ways. Multiple agencies and programs supported us with classes focused on increasing our income and financial well-being along with counseling services that helped me and my family deal with the stress of being homeless. We were given a great deal of support. Today, we are so grateful to be in our own home. We have both found permanent full-time jobs and our kids feel secure in their new schools. Our nine year old son enjoys giving back by working at the shelter and soup kitchen as often as he can. We received assistance from many United Way funded programs throughout this difficult time.
