Business Opportunity

Pakistan’s problems are its opportunities! Most people in the West believe that Pakistan is an unstable countryon the verge of imminent collapse or an explosion of violence. It is consistently portrayed—by politicians,policymakers, and the media—as the most volatile and dysfunctional state in the world.

And yet, Pakistan is included on Goldman Sachs’ list of the next eleven (N-11) most important emergingmarkets. Although it has (along with Nigeria and Bangladesh) “broad and systematic issues across a range ofareas” that will prevent it from fully delivering on its growth potential, the country’s large population (itcurrently has 180 million people) assures its inclusion. Indeed, within a generation, Pakistan will have thefourth largest number of people in the world, behind only India, China, and the United States, and be a markettoo significant to ignore.

The population growth rate of Pakistan is above those of western developed economies, which indicates agreater consumer market potential over the medium term. Large and further-growing populations show a

bigger potential pool of consumers for businesses to target.

At the risk of sounding clichéd, Pakistan’s greatest asset is its people. The population is proportionately one ofthe youngest in the world. The youth predominately feel passionate about their country and are determinedfor it to succeed, entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship seems almost natural to them. Pakistanis havehad to overcome many hardships, but this in turn has made them resourceful, robust and resilient. If they aresupported, Pakistan could become a success story and a world leader in economic and social transformation.

With all the right ingredients for change in place, people of Pakistan are ready for a positive transformation.

Previous leadership initiatives by companies like Franklin Covey Pakistan, have failed to create a practical andrealistic impact. There failure is due to the following reasons:

His over 20 years of experience in Pakistan consists ofconceptualizing, founding leading and turning around organizationsincluding Pakistan’s first Internet Company, Pakistan No. 1 Yellowpages, and Pakistan No. 1 event organizers through which he has ledstart-up and launched E-Commerce & Web through Direct andDatabase Marketing.

He was instrumental in initiating IT Policy for Pakistan. He was a selectmember of Sindh Information Technology Board and an active Memberof Pakistan Software Houses Society.

He has led Start-up and Managed Pakistan’s largest trade events and Conferences in IT, Engineering, Health,Building, Agriculture and thus brought Dot Com events and culture in Pakistan. All these activities made Karachicity come back as a hub of activities and made the nation proud.

As a change manager and business transformer, Mr. Atiq pioneered the Quality Certification and TechnologyIncubator regimes. The strategic aim of Program C.H.A.N.G.E. is to create an overarching facilitation platform for components on Leadership for C.H.A.N.G.E., Capacity Building & Business Transformation Methodologies. These strategic initiatives are architected to deliver INTELLIGENT solutions connecting the dots with global and regional trends. These “Bridging the Gap” initiatives will provide competencies to regional for-profits and not-for-profits to establish sound business practices emphasizing accountability, increased capacity, effectiveness, efficiency, quality, reduced spending, and increased Return On Investment (ROI) and Return On Net Assets (RONA).

Through training and development services provided by Program C.H.A.N.G.E., this platform will also serve as a regional thought leader for emerging countries with the appetite for transformation by creating an ecosystem to grab and carve out opportunities that plug into entrepreneurial capabilities by formulating alliances with the local and international stakeholders, governing bodies and academia.
