CHAIR MESSAGE Wow! Summer sure is flying by. July was a busy month at the Chamber including the annual Eyes to the Skies Festival. Thank you to all of the members who volunteered their time to support the Chamber which helped raise money for the scholarships given out by the Chamber. I hope you were able to come to the annual Golf Outing and Dinner on July 18th at Seven Bridges Golf Club. There were a ton of raffle prizes donated by Chamber members. Everyone had a great time not

only golfing but networking with other Members. August is going to be another busy month. The annual Chamber member Appreciation Picnic will be on Thursday, August 17th in the Chamber parking lot. Come join us to network with other Members and enjoy some great food. We also have the last Cruise Nights of the season on Saturday, August 26th in Downtown Lisle. There will be out some great classic cars and the band The Cruisers will be playing. Also the annual Ale Fest is coming up in September. Make plans to join us on September30th at beautiful PrairieWalk Pond to sample over 80 unique American craft beers. You can purchase tickets at www.lislealefest.com. The Golf Outing and Dinner was held July 18th at Seven Bridges Golf Club. A big thank you to Mike Toohey, the Chair of Golf Committee and the Golf Committee who worked hard at the event and put in so many hours preparing for it. Thank you to Claudine Rummer, Office Manager of the Lisle Area Chamber who worked very diligently on all the details of running a successful event. Thank you to Molex, Inc. who was our Platinum Sponsor again this year. Finally, thank you to our generous

Members who donated so many raffle prizes. We could not have had event without all of you. Ryan MacIntyre, of Plaidypus, Inc., created a scavenger hunt for the golf course. The game worked seamlessly. Team Monetta found all but four hidden QR coded squares and each player in the four-some won a $25.00 gift card. Katie Bulgrin of Culver’s Downers Grove/Lisle was at Hole 10 once again this year serving Culver's custard. It was a very hot day and golfers, volunteers, and staff en-joyed the cool treat. Chamber members Four Lakes Recreation, Torg Realty, Inc. and Williams Chiropractic Center were also hole sponsors. Fair Oaks Ford Lincoln was our Hole-In-One sponsor. Midwest Auto Body of Lisle was a putting green sponsor. The UPS Store, Lisle donated the sponsor hole signs. It would not be an event without B. Gun-ther making our beautiful trophies. Details of the event are in the newsletter page 4 & 5. This time every year we at the Chamber office like to show you our members a little appreciation. We are hosting our annual Member Appreciation picnic, right here in beautiful downtown Lisle at Main and Burlington Avenue on August 17th from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm. Feel free to stop by and network, eat lunch, listen to some music sponsored by 4ASong Vinyl, enjoy Culver’s custard, and maybe win a raffle prize. Congratulations to Eric Ertmoed, Lisle’s new Village Manager.

CHAMBER SPOTLIGHT - 4A Song Vinyl

4A Song Vinyl and Jukeboxes is a family run local business in our hometown of Lisle located Downtown at Main & Burlington. We sell new and vintage vinyl along with some music lover expressions and collector needs. Our In-Store Events are always a great time and include activities that are categorized as “The Pinteresting Experience” (projects where we repurpose damaged, unplayable vinyl). Our weekly events include Saturday Morning Chill where we ease into the weekend with a cup of coffee and check out some more mellow tunes on vinyl. Every

Thursday, the Juke Journey meets from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This is where interested individuals meet to discuss restoration efforts on a variety of Jukeboxes. 4A Song Vinyl does carry refurbished jukeboxes for sale as well as for rent. AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHT - Julie LaFond

Julie is a retired teacher from St. Joan of Arc, she has worked in this field for 35 years. Her primary duty at St. Joan of Arc is teaching Junior High Language Arts. Julie has been a Lisle Area Chamber member for 11 years and has served as an Ambassador for 10 years. In addition to her contributions as an Ambassador, Julie has worked on the Dinner Dance committee, the 5K committee, the Golf Outing committee, the Government Affairs Committee and is Chair of the Scholarship committee. She enjoys being an Ambassador for the Lisle Area Chamber because she has the opportunity to work with great people throughout the village in all lines of business. Julie resides in Green Trails in Lisle with her husband Lee. She enjoys spending her free time with her three children and seven grandchildren. In addition, Julie loves gardening, reading, and getting involved in the community. Julie also volunteers her time with V4L or Volunteers for Lisle. She lives her life by these words, “Get involved and you will reap the rewards of helping people.”

The Lisle French Market is located on Garfield Avenue, adjacent to beautiful PrairieWalk Pond. The open-air market runs on Saturdays beginning May 6 through October 28 from 8:00am to 1:00pm. 12th Annual Veggie Fest 2017 - August 12th - 13th

PrairieWalk Pond Concert Series

As the children of our community head back to school, many parents will find it a financial strain to provide them with necessary school supplies. CMAP - Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning

CMAP is seeking public input on priorities for parking and transportation as part of a downtown parking plan through the Local Technical Assistance (LTA) program. The plan will study downtown parking to assess local parking needs, analyze trends, and identify improvements in policy and infrastructure to support the goals outlined in the Village’s Downtown master plan. The Parking and Transportation Overview assessed current conditions, and the results of the survey will help shape policy directions. Information provided by CMAP.
