It was with great sadness that we say goodbye to Joe Menicucci, our City Manager. Joe was chair of our Economic Development Committee for many years. He secured many Community Devel-opment Block grants for start-up businesses, which in turn built our Revolving Loan Fund. He wrote grants for the city to help fund sidewalks and the sewer lagoon. He was instrumental in working with our Congressmen to secure funds for city streets as well as our existing freeway interchange and the new East Belgrade interchange.

Joe came to the city at a time when a volunteer mayor and coun-cil were struggling to keep up with the growth. What a wise deci-sion to hire Joe as he guided the city through some hard and crazy times. He always had the city taxpayers in mind by making sure that the monies were spent very frugally.

He loved debating politics and sports teams. He would get that devilish twinkle in his eye and then laugh knowing he could push my buttons. He was a good friend to the Chamber and will be sorely missed in the community.

Whomever the City Council hires, they will have big shoes to fill; but we can rest assured they are taking over a great city that was run well, with good staff. We salute you Joe; you definitely left your mark on Belgrade.

Hope everyone has a great summer!

Wellness Screening Services Coming to Your Town!

A healthy workforce is a productive workforce that shows up on time; works hard; calls in sick less; and, by default, reduces company-wide healthcare costs. That’s why more employers are proactively adopting wellness programs within the workplace as a powerful tool for promoting employee health.

The Chamber Choices, our association health insurance and wellness program, has planned and coordinated wellness screenings for all employer groups around the state starting in June. These wellness fairs give covered employees and spouses the valuable health information and screening services they need to stay fit and healthy and detect threatening medical conditions early.

With “It Starts With Me” wellness screening services, employers can take measurable steps to reduce health-care costs, while gaining a healthier workforce that per-

forms better. The screening is provided at no cost to the employer or the employee. Screenings are only available to employees and spouses enrolled in Chamber Choices.

Wellness screening services include roughly 40 blood tests, blood pressure check, and BMI check. Results are sent to the individual’s home address with clear explana-tions and action points.

Wellness Screening Sites: Big Sky: June 18 Bozeman: June 19, 20, 21, and July 24 Manhattan: July 12 Belgrade: July 26
