22nd Annual Chippewa Valley Rally Wednesday, January 27, 2016 Madison Concourse Hotel & Wisconsin State Capitol
Organized by the Chippewa Valley Chamber Alliance, including the Chippewa Falls, Eau
Claire and Menomonie Chambers of Commerce
As you know, this past January’s event turned out to be particularly consequential. In the months since our trip to Madison, we saw funding for the Confluence Project approved in the state budget; progress was made on critical skills gap initiatives like additional engineering degrees at our regional universities; and a state legislature which a year ago had a high percentage of new faces was made more aware of the economic issues important to the Chippewa Valley. (They also couldn’t miss us in our scarfs!) This coming year, it’s especially important for us to have a strong showing again to say “thanks” for funding approved and progress made; to continue to solidify relationships with policy makers; and to focus on issues that still need attention, like long term transportation funding, the value of our local educational institutions, and the state’s role in addressing workforce challenges. To register or for sponsorship information, please contact Scott Rogers at the Eau Claire Chamber at [email protected].
Tourism
Free Tourism Advertising Opportunity
The Chamber prints and distributes a quarterly coupon sheet to area visitors through welcome bags, the Chippewa Area Visitor Center and on the Chamber tourism web-site. Over 900 winter/spring coupon sheets were distributed during this time period last year. Coupon space is FREE for Chamber members and is a great way to promote your business to visitors. Space is limited and reserved on a first come first serve ba-sis. Coupons must offer a percentage or dollar amount off a product or service, but no minimum amount is required. The coupon brochure will be distributed from January 1-May 31, 2016. To reserve a space contact the Chamber by December 18.
The Wissota Raptors 4-H was one of the 35 organizations that
received a donation.
HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital announced that Joan Coffman, president and CEO, has been named to the Wisconsin Hospital Association Board of Directors. Chippewa Family YMCA is pleased to welcome Caroline
Wee as the new Y Early Learning Community Child Care Director. Monkey Business Early Educational Community has been awarded Accreditation from the National Accreditation Commission.
Loffler Companies was been recognized by Great America Financial Services as a Prestige Dealer Partner for consistently going above and beyond for customers and employees. Variety Office Products was acquired by Northern Business Products and will continue to service the Chippewa Valley. Per Mar Security Services received the Commercial Outstanding Sales Performance of the Year award from Honeywell.
