A New Year always comes with the promise and hope

of better times to come. Let us welcome 2020 by

gearing up for the tremendous professional

opportunities that will beckon us in this New Year.

The year past was a wonderful year and the Branch has

actively done many activities for members and students.

It gives me a feeling of satisfaction of the position I held with your trust and faith. I thank all the Resource

Persons and the participants making this happen.

Members, the last date for complying with the CPE Hours requirement for the Calendar Year 2019 - has

been extended from 31st December, 2019 to 31st January 2020. The members who could not complete

their respective CPE hours requirement up to 31st December, 2019 for the Calendar year 2019, are requested

to kindly complete the same at the earliest and latest by 31st January 2020.

I take this opportunity to provide you a snapshot of the activities conducted at your Branch during the

The Activities of December 2019

Udyati2:

The One Day Conference Organised by Committee for Capacity Building for Members in Practice and Hostedby Visakhapatnam Branch of SIRC of ICAI on 21st December 2019 at Hotel Novotel was One of the best Oneday conferences in the History of Visakhapatnam Branch. The Key Note address by President ICAI

CA Prafulla P Chhajed was remarkable and touched all important areas of profession and initiatives by ICAI.The Vice Chairman of CCBMP ICAI CA D Prasanna Kumar addressed the Delegates and informed all thedevelopments taken up by the Committee. I thank the speakers for the Conference CA Debashis Mitra,CA Ameet Patel and CA Satish Saraf for their excellent presentation. The conference was attended by morethan 460 Delegates. I also thank the CCBMP, ICAI for extending all the support in doing the conference.

Abhigyan National Conference for CA Students:

The National Conference for CA Students on 21st and 22nd December 2019 at Port Kalavani Auditorioumorganized by Board of Studies and hosted by Visakhapatnam Branch of SICASA of SIRC of ICAI wasresounding success with a total attendance of 1111 CA Students which was inaugurated by PresidentCA Prafulla P Chhajed. Special Sessions were taken by CA. Pramod Kumar B CCM and CA. RevathiRaghunathan SICASA Chairperson. Congratulate SICASA Team led by Chairman SICASA VisakhapatnamBranch CA Y Suryachandra Rao, Co-Chairman CA V Rama Prasad and its Vice Chairman Mr Prem Sai Varmafor this success. I also thank CA. the student volunteers, session Chairmen, CA Student speakers for makingthis mega event successful.

I thank the Past Chairmen, and Members who have helped the branch in doing these two mega events.

On 30th November a Blood Donation Camp was organised and on 1st December 2019 SICASA Day wascelebrated and a CA student fest was organised on this occasion. The fest was inaugrated by CA D PrasannaKumar, CCM. The students actively participated in the fest.

On 3rd December 2019, we have organized Outreach program on Sabka Vishwas Legal Dispute ResolutionScheme addressed by CA Sangu Ramakrishna and also officials from Service Tax Department. The membersactively participated in the Program and got clarified their doubts on the scheme. I thank the speakers fortheir presentation. After the Program CA Yateender Gupta Chief Mentor of Australian Chapter of ICAIaddressed the members and shared opportunities for members in Australia. I thank CA Yateender Guptafor addressing the members.

On 4th December and 11th December 2019 we conducted study circle meeting on Accounting Standardsaddressed by CA V S N Murthy and CA Anirban Pal respectively. I thank both the speakers in sharing theirvaluable thoughts in the meeting.

On 27th December 2019 the CCBMP of ICAI organized Half Day Seminar on Section 270 A of Income Tax Actaddressed by CA Charmi Sha from Mumbai. I thank the Committee for giving us opportunity to host theseminar. I also thank the speaker for sharing her valuable thoughts on very provision of Income Tax Act.

Pleasure in sharing details about Upcoming Programs:

on 4th January 2020, we are organizing a 6 Hour CPE Seminar on redressal mechanism under Income Taxaddressed by CA G V N Hari and GST New return formats, advance ruling and appeal mechanism under GSTby CA Ashish Kumar Agarwal from Vizinagaram.

On 25th January 2020 we are organizing study circle meeting on Accounting Standards addressed byCA K C S Guru Prasad.

On 26th January I request all the members to participate in Flag hoisting ceremony at Branch Premises.

Certificate Course on Forensic Accounting and Fraud Detection:

I take immense pleasure in sharing with you all that Visakhapatnam Branch is Organising Certificate Courseon Forensic Accounting and Fraud Detection conducted by Digital Accounting and Assurance Board in themonth of February 2020. I request the members to register for the course. Details of the course are given in

the newsletter.
