By Train

Every hour, you can board a railjet in Linz and travel to Vienna Airport in as little as 1 hour and 43 minutes. Using www.austrian.com or a travel agency, it is possible to book the rail journey from Linz to Vienna together with a connecting flight as an AIRail connection, enabling passengers travelling to or from Linz to access all the destinations in the Austrian Airlines global route network with one ticket valid for both the rail and air legs of their journey. AIRail offers much more than just quick and easy booking, however AIRail customers are offered the option of checking in for their flight at Linz Hauptbahnhof using a self-service terminal at the station’s Travel Centre. Business Class and AUA Miles & More Status customers are able to use the ÖBB Lounge at Linz Hauptbahnhof, with assistance available on request at Passenger Check-in. The boarding pass can be used as a ticket for the entire journey booked, including the sections by rail and by air. Passengers remain in charge of their luggage until they reach the airport. AIRail passengers are allocated at their own reserved seats on the train and supported by ÖBB staff during the rail leg of the journey. Passengers are responsible for taking care of their luggage until they reach Vienna Airport, with service staff present on the platforms at both ends of the journey to help them unload and load their luggage when boarding and disembarking from the train. All AIRail passengers receive a voucher for the ICE on-board restaurant, should they wish to enjoy some light refreshments during their journey to or from the airport.

Via Highway

For those travelling with a rental car, take the Parkstraße in the direction to Vienna on the highway A4 for 1,6 km. Then take the exit to the highway A21/A1 in the direction Linz. Stay on the A1 for 203 km till exit A7 (Knoten Linz). After 12 km take the exit Hafenstraße and stay right till Holzstraße than turn left to enter the Petzoldstraße.

MUNICH Train from Munich airport to main train station

From Munich Airport you have to take the regional train “S-Bahn” S1 (every 45 minutes) or S8 (every 41 minutes) to get to the Munich main station. From there you can take different trains to Linz via Salzburg. Marks access to S1 and S8

Via Highway

For those travelling with a rental car Exit the airport in direction to the A92. Follow the Highway for about 100 km to junction 24 Deggendorf. Take the Highway A3 direction Linz/Passau for 66 km to the Austrian border. Stay on the highway (now A8) for 70 km till ot joins the A1, direction Vienna/Linz. After 5 km take the exit A7 (Knoten Linz). After 12 km take the exit Hafenstraße and stay on the right side for 300m and turn left at the traffic light in Holzstraße than turn left to enter the Petzoldstraße. ATTENTION: You are crossing borders! Keep your passport ready!

Car Rental in Munich At the airport Munich you have several possibilities to rent a car, but none of the cars has allowance to use Austrian highways, so you have to buy one at a gas station near the Austrian border.
