SUBMISSION PROCEDUREAuthors are invited to submit original papers in the areas aforementioned. Prospective authors should submit a preliminary full paper (4/6 pages, 2-column in IEEE format) by February 1, 2021. The papers should clearly explain the originality and the relevance to the fields, and should be uploaded in electronic format to the website of the sympo-sium. The guidelines to upload will appear on the website http://eeeic.eu/. All submitted abstracts will be evaluated by a peer review process. Authors whose papers are accepted for presentation will be requested to provide the final full paper by April 15, 2021 combined with a registration for each submitted paper. For authors from industry typical paper length may be reduced to 3 pages. Poster sessions and special sessions will stimulate more in depth discussions on some specific and relevant topic.

CALL FOR SPECIAL SESSIONSProspective organizers of special sessions should send their proposals via email to the Special Sessions Chairs, F. Bisegna and G. Zizzo, at the addresses [email protected], [email protected]. Special sessions are scheduled for one-quarter day (at most 5 speakers) / one-half day (at most 10 speakers) and are held during the Conference. All special session papers are peer reviewed through the same process as all the other submitted technical papers.

WORKING LANGUAGE The working language of the conference is English, which will be used for all printed material, presentations, posters and discussions.

SYMPOSIUM VENUEThe conference will be held in Bari (Italy) at Politecnico di Bari (www.poliba.it). The conference venue is an outstanding Campus located in the heart of Bari close to the most important attractions of the city and well-served by trains and ground lines (how to get here https://www.mycicero.it/muvt/TPWebPortal/). The venue is also located a few steps from the city Historic Centre that unexpectedly end up in small squares, beautiful churches and astonishing historical palaces. The first half of June is the best period to visit Bari due to the climate, usually warm and sunny. Early hotel reservations are very recommended. A list of suggested accommodations, close to the conference venue, will be published on the conference website.ABOUT BARIBari is a big port city on the Adriatic coast, the capital of the Italian region of PugliaBari's historic centre is a city within a city, a maze of narrow alleys, courtyards, historical palaces, and bars. It houses approximately 30 churches and many wonderful buildings, such as the Basilica of San Nicola, the Romanesque Basilica of San Gregorio, the Cathedral of San Sabino, and the Castello Normanno-Svevo (Norman-Swabian Castle) built by Frederick II. Stretching along Italy’s longest seafront, Bari Vecchia (Old Bari) is the ancient heart of the city. Visitors are accompanied by the aroma of clean laundry and freshly-baked focaccia and by the sight of fresh pasta drying in doorways, as they walk from Arco Basso to the area around Piazza Ferrarese, Piazza San Pietro, and the Monastery of Santa Scolastica. Other must-sees include Piazza Mercantile, the Colonna Infame, and the Library of Santa Teresa dei Maschi.Bari is the Capital of Puglia, the region in the heel of the Italian “boot.” It’s also a major transport hub not only for Puglia, but for ferries and cruise ships leaving the port for other destinations in the Mediterranean.Bari is in the middle of Puglia. Two important touristic areas, especially in summer, are Gargano in the northernmost part of Puglia, and the Salento in the southernmost one. Bari is much more than a capital and transportation hub! It’s also an off-the-beaten-path destina-tion boasting spectacular gems, from top-notch cuisine to historic castles. And getting to Bari is easier than you might think. You can fly into Bari’s international airport, but if you’re already in Italy, you might want to take the high-speed train. From Rome, you can get to Bari Centrale in about four hours; since the train station in Bari is only a short walk to the historic center, it’s an especially convenient way to go. (Don’t miss out on our post on how to travel Italy by train!).

CONTACTSDetails on the technical program of the conference, as well as social events and hotel accom-modation, will be available shortly on the conference website www.eeeic.eu and www.eeeic.netFor any query, please do not hesitate to contact the Organising Committee at the following e-mail address: [email protected] (for organizing questions) or [email protected] (for papers and technical questions)
