Information regarding the Master Thesis Submission of the thesis Two bound hard copies of the thesis as well as an electronic copy must be submitted to the Dean´s Office, Leonard-Euler-Str. 5, room 04, during the office hours (Tel. +49-(0)231-755-2022 / 2723) For submission of the thesis to the Dean´s Office, fill out the form "Submission of Diplom thesis/bachelor´s thesis/master´s thesis" and hand it in with your thesis. The submission will be acknowlegded by the Dean´s Office. Submission by post (by registered letter) is also possible. The date of the postmark is considered as the date of submission. Outside office hours you may submit the thesis to the Leitwarte der Technischen Unversität Dortmund (Betriebstechnische Zentrale) Campus Nord, Emil-Figge-Str. 71, 44227 Dortmund For turning in the master thesis to the Leitwarte, prepare a package ready for dispatch, addressed to the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and containing all copies and forms. From the Leitwarte office, it will be forwarded by internal post to the Dean´s Office. The address of the Dean´s Office is as follows: Fakultät Maschinenbau Dekanat - im Hause- Make sure, in your own interest, the Leitwarte officer confirms the receipt of your package (date and time). Instruction:

Anyone who intentionally violates a rule in a university´s examination regulations on cheating in examinations is committing a regulatory offence. This offence may be penalized with a fine of up to 50,000 euros. The administrative authority responsible for the prosecution and punishment of an offence is the Head of Administration (Kanzler) of TU Dortmund University. Furthermore, in case of a repeated or any other serious attempt to deceive, the examinee may be exmatriculated (§ 63 paragraph 5 Higher Education Act). The date of this oral defence is the date of completion of the master´s examination. The oral defence cannot be conducted unless all modules and the master´s thesis are graded. The oral defence should take 30 minutes per candidate. The oral defence will be graded by two examiners, who are, as a rule, also the supervisors of the master´s thesis. The total grade of the master´s examination consists of the average grade of the written master´s thesis, weighted with 0.8, and the grade of the oral defence, weighted with 0.2.
