CERTIFICATE of INTEGRATED OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT

Institute for Professional Excellence

CERTIFICATE OF INTEGRATED OPERATIONS MANAGEMENTThe journey to operational excellence — preparing students for a leadership role in operations.

Program DetailsThe Certificate of Integrated Operations Management supports every organization’s quest for operational excellence. In this program, we follow a proven, interdisciplinary approach — incorporating operations management, project management, and quality management — for designing and managing effective business operations. Participants gain a holistic view of operations management in increasingly complex organizations.

Our 12-week program uniquely highlights learning efficiencies by removing the redundancy you might experience in a traditional academic class. With the integrated application of topics through discussion, analysis, simulation, project work, and corporate visits, our participants not only learn the theory and concept, but they put that knowledge into practice.

• Curriculum aligns with the bodies of knowledge linked to major certifications such as APICS, PMP, and ASQ.

• 12 weekly sessions, Fridays from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

• Lunch and daily refreshments.

• Certificate of Completion from Davenport University.

Become More Valuable to the OrganizationToday’s organizations need operations managers who can think analytically, communicate effectively, and execute efficiently. Participants must come prepared with a project topic related to his/her business. The employer-driven project requires each participant to develop an operations/process improvement plan to support advanced operational performance within his/her organization.

With guided project development and support from experienced facilitators (project coaches) the participants incorporate project management, operations and quality concepts to develop an individualized operations/process improvement plan that includes:

• A review of research methods and analysis.

• A problem statement, using operations analysis and problem solving processes.

• A project schedule, including a Work Breakdown Structure and weekly progress reports.

• A comparison of alternative courses of action.

• A final project plan with recommendations to improve an organizational process to benefit the organization.
