WDR allows a camera to filter the intense back light surrounding a subject and thus

enhances the ability to distinguish features and shapes on the subject.

During daytime, the image produced by the camera would be washed out due to the high

brightness of the incoming light.

The WDR function of a camera is a technology that compensates for high contrast of light

and shadow situations. This makes it possible to monitor surveillance in interior or

exterior settings with dim lighting and high shadows.
