gENERaL DEsCRIPTION aND suRvEy CHaRT

aPPLICaTIONThe CentriFlow 3D plug fan range is a complete fan assembly to be used in Air Handling Units. The fan is available in 9 sizes and covers air flow up to 11 m3/s (40 000 m3/h) and pressure rises up to 2 000 Pa. The fan is equipped with high efficiency PM-motors which are driven by frequency converter using either 0 - 10 V input or the MODBUS-RTU interface for communication. Fan is ready to be used - plug and play - and in case of integral motor all cabling is done between motor and drive.

The new developed impeller is specially designed to work inside an Air Handling Unit to give the best performance for

• lowest possible vibration levels

QuaLITy aND ENvIRONMENTAll components are designed and manufactured in accordance with applicable standards including the quality assurance system ISO 9001 , the environmental management system ISO 14001 and the Energy Directive 2009/125/EC and all Directives related to CE-marking.

The GMPM fans are certified by TÜV in accordance with RLT-Richt-linie Zertifizierung: August 2015/a in Class B0. The performance data is according to Precision Class 1 as defined by DIN 24 166.

avaILabLE vERsIONsIn CentriFlow 3D GMPM the same impeller is available with a permanent magnet motor in several drive arrangements, see below.

DEsIgN DEsCRIPTION FaN IMPELLER

The impeller is made of aluminium. The hollow section airfoil blades are made of extruded aluminium profile and are welded to impeller front and back plate. The leading edges of blades are inclined and the blades are backward curved. Number of blades is six (6). Hub

The hub is made of die casted aluminium in sizes 031 - 071 and of steel in size 080. Motor is fastened to hub by using a keyway and fastening screws.

MOTOR bRaCkET aND basE FRaMEThe motor bracket is made of galvanized sheet steel (sizes 031-071) or of welded sheet steel and painted with 100 µm thick epoxy powder paint (size 080).

The base frame is made of galvanized sheet steel (sizes 031-071) or hot dip galvanized steel (size 080).

DEsIgN DEsCRIPTION

FaN INLET

The fan inlet is designed to optimize the flow into the impeller. The inlet is deep-drawn in one piece and made of galvanized sheet steel.

aIR FLOW sENsORThe inlet is equipped with an air flow sensor as standard. It is used for measuring the air flow through the impeller. As standard there are two measurement nipples and four measurement nipples are available as accessory.

When a fan is in Air Handling Unit, the differential pressure Δpm shall be measured between the static pressures in the suction side plenum and air flow sensor.

The air flow is calculated as a function of the measurement pressure difference Δpm with the coefficient k as a parameter by using the following formula:

MOTORCentriFlow 3D GMPM fans are supplied with IE4 high efficiency permanent magnet motors and a speed controller. The high efficiency is based on permanent magnets which eliminate rotor losses and therefore less magnetizing current is needed.

Permanent magnet motors are based on IEC standard frame sizes but are typically smaller than traditional AC-motors with the same nominal output power.

Motors are designed to be used with a speed controller, which can be included in the delivery as loose, integral or built-on. Speed controller has all parameters programmed before the delivery. In case of a loose delivery the screened cable is installed to the motor. Other versions have factory mounted cables between motor and speed controller.

FaN sPECIFICaTION

• Fan data tested in accordance with ISO 5801 and ISO 13347-2

• The complete fan is balanced to meet max vibration level 2,8 mm/s RMS (sizes 031-063) or 4,5 mm/s RMS (sizes 071-080) at maximum rotational frequency in accordance with ISO 14694

• Impeller made of aluminium, hub of aluminium or steel

• Permanent magnet class IE4 motor used by frequency converter

• Static construction made of galvanized sheet steel

• Number of blades 6

• Permissible ambient temperature –10° C - +40° C.

• Inlet equipped with air flow sensor to determine the airflow

• Direction of rotation clockwise, seen from the motor.

sPEED CONTROLLERAll GMPM fans using PM-motors shall always be used with a speed controller. Direct connection on mains is not allowed. Speed controllers need special parameters, which are ready programmed. All fan-motor combinations are tested at the factory before the delivery.Loose speed controller can be mounted nearby the fan, e.g on the side panel of the air handling unit. A screened cable of 3.5 m (sizes 031-50) or 4.5 m (sizes 056-080) is included in the delivery and connected on motor side.

Integral and built-on versions are ready to be used and need only power from mains and control signals.For specification of various speed controllers please see the table on next page. Wiring diagrams are to be found at the end of this catalogue.

OPERaTION PaNELLoose speed controller has operation panel as a standard. Integral and built-on versions have optional operation panel. It can be mounted on the side panel of the air handling unit.

Following actions can be made with operation panel:

• Read motor data like speed, frequency, current, voltage, operating hours etc.

• Handle alarms

• Drive motor manually

FaN IN aIR HaNDLINg uNITsThe Air Handling Unit normally has an influence on fan capacity and sound data. As the fan data is given for free inlet - free outlet some corrections are required to estimate the data inside the casing.

The new CentriFlow 3D fan is performing well inside the Air Handling Unit. Even in this case some corrections to catalogue may be needed. Estimated corrections are available in the soft-ware.

Recommended minimum safety distances are shown in the following picture..
