Registration
• Will begin at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning and carry on until 4:00 p.m. Access the West parking lot to the Field House.– ID Photos will be taken ($10)– Yearbooks and parking passes can be purchased
at this time.– $60 for a year book (discounted rate for
registration.)– $10 for a parking pass– Students in attendance tonight will receive their
choice of lockers first. (Even before the seniors…Shhhh!)

Closed Campus Guidelines
• Campus will be closed to all freshmen and sophomores.
• You will have either first or second lunch based on which teacher you have for your 3rd hour on M-Th and based on your 5th hour on Fridays.

Attendance
• Most important piece of school success!
• By School Board Policy: “Upon the 10th absence per class, per semester, the student will continue to be enrolled in the class or classes on a NO CREDIT status.”
• This does not count for school related absences.
• It does count for truancy and excused absences.

• Please know if your child is sick…please keep them home.
• If your child hits the 10th absence we will determine credit based on the circumstances at hand.
• The idea behind the policy is for students not to skip class.
• The idea is not to send kids to school sick.

• Parents will be notified daily upon students missing class via phone as well as in writing on the 5th, and 10th absences in any one course.
• 3 tardies will equal one unexcused absence.
• If you are late more than 10 minutes the tardy will be marked as an unexcused absence.
LCSD #1 Weapon’s Policy
• LCSD#1 and the administration of Central High School believes that a safe and orderly environment are two of the top correlates of effective schools.
• Weapons are not allowed on campus (including pocket knifes, box cutters, munitions, etc).
• Over 1/3 of suspensions or expulsions district wide were the result of students bringing pocket knives or like items to school.
Activities and Athletics
• Activities– 36+ Activities to participate in.– Club Rush will be held Sept 5th before
the football game.• Athletics- (We have a no cut
policy.)– Fall
• Football, Volleyball, X-Country, Tennis, Golf, Girls Swimming & Diving, Cheerleading
– Winter• Basketball, Wrestling, Boys Swimming &
Diving Indoor Track, Cheerleading– Spring
• Outdoor Track, Soccer, Golf
College Readiness
• 20 AP Courses currently offered at Central.
• Make an appointment as soon as possible with the Career Center, located next to the alpha offices.
• Colleges look for:– Community service– Grades– Activities and athletics– Challenging courses on transcripts

Important Dates to Remember
• Registration begins at 8 a.m. tomorrow.• First day of football practice was today
but it is not too late to get involved just make sure you have a physical.
• First day of fall sports practice begins Aug 18.
• First day of school is August 26th at 7:45 a.m.
• September 5th is the first home football game vs. South.
Miscellaneous
• Money can be added to a student’s account via the internet. See the Nutrition Services website at www.laramie1.org under departments.
• Parents can track what is bought for lunch and in what quantities.
• IC Portal will be a great tool for parents.– Notification of the reasons for tardies or
absences.– Information about upcoming events and
grade checks for your students.
Miscellaneous
• Student accident insurance is offered by an outside agency at a discounted rate for the school district. (Forms can be picked up at your student’s alpha office.)
• Lockers will be checked out after our meeting here in the commons.
