OUR HEARTS CONTINUE TO HURT for our dear friend Bryan and his family at the loss of his father Bob. Please continue to keep them all in your prayers as they travel this week and lay him to rest. From my short time of knowing Bryan’s dad, he was a man of few words, but when he spoke you wanted to hear. We are thankful for Bob & Kristie and the influence they have had in our church. We are most thankful for the son they have raised that gives us all a
glimpse of who they are and their love for their Lord. AFTER ALL THE SUMMER EVENTS.. I forgot to thank Jim Hudgins for all his help with Wednesday night classes. During camp, Turks & Caicos and Cincinnati, Jim took care of the teaching duties for our Junior & Senior High. Thank you to Jim and everyone who helps out from time to time with teaching and helping in any way. FRIENDS AND FAMILY DAY IS THIS COMING SUNDAY! I hope you are inviting everyone you know to join us this coming Sunday for the special day. We want them to join us and become a regular part of all we do. You never know the eternal impact it may have. THE YOUTH DEACONS HAVE BEEN MEETING and planning for the new youth minister search process. As they take their time to help select the right man, please continue to pray for them, our Elders, our youth, and the future Youth Minister. AS I STARTED LAST WEEK with ways you can be a benefit to the next youth minister, here is the second one in no particular order… #2 MAKE JESUS AND HIS CHURCH TOP PRIORITY. One of the most frustrating things in ministry is wanting to reach the youth, but often sporadic attendance or lack of involvement makes it difficult. If you want the youth minister to reach your children, to help them with their struggles and to be an influence in their lives, encourage them to be involved in youth activities. Through my years as a youth minister I have learned though that not everyone is a “youth group kid.” I truly understand
this, but it should not be used as an excuse since every child should be actively involved in the church and her work. What are we teaching our children when we do not miss important things on our schedules, but neglect spending time with our church family in study and worship of our Lord? “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?” Mark 8:36 The youth minister can be vital with his influence and support. However, it never can substitute the involvement of those responsible for the child and most importantly, the time spent with Jesus and His bride. Follow His path, -Craig

Marshall & Ann Spencer write: “ To Our Brethren, Ann and I are very grateful to our brothers and sisters in Christ who have helped us in so many ways since her fall on May 29th. Your prayers have brought us through a difficult time, and your assistance with food, yard work, and other tasks have been wonderful as have your gifts. The many visits to Ann have been and continue to be uplifting to both of us. Ann continue to progress in her recovery, which we hope will be complete. Please continue to pray for us.
In Christ…” “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Phil. 4:13 Becky Gatewood writes: “Gary & I have been so touched by your many acts of love and kindness shown to us during my recovery following surgery. The support and encouragement that we have received through your prayers, beautiful cards, sweet notes, phone calls, visits, and food have been such a blessing to both of us. How thankful we are for each of you and to be part of such a loving and caring church family. In Christian Love…”
