During the sea-son of Lent we are giving a Lenten Program. It consists of $1.00 a day for 40 days. You offer the LORD this sacrifice in gratitude for all He has done for you. There are envelopes available for you to place your offering. This program runs from February 17th, to March 31st. All of-ferings are due on April 1st, (Easter Sunday). Easter flower donation envelopes are available in the front and at the side door of the church. The envelope has a place to write your loved one’s name. These envelopes will have a special place on the altar throughout the Easter Season. All envelopes should be returned by March 11th. Please use these enve-lopes in place of the one in the envelope packet. Your generosity is greatly appreciated . We Are All Called to Be Disciples of Jesus

To take up Pope Francis’ renewed call to be disciples, we ourselves must first be open to God in our lives. We encounter God a thousand times a day, if only we could open our eyes to see His presence within us and around us; but how can we open ourselves up to experience God as He walks with us each day? Pope Francis suggests the first step to seeking and finding God in all things is the act of discernment. Christian discernment means that we take some time to reflect on how God is active in our life. Saint Ignatius suggests that we ask ourselves three questions each day: Where was God today, how did I respond, and where is God leading me tomorrow? Through such discernment, the disciple is able to see the small things of her or his life within the largest horizons-the hori-zons the Kingdom of God.

Todos Somos Llamados a Ser Discípulos de Jesús

Para retomar el renovado llamado del Papa Francisco a ser discípulos, no-sotros mismos debemos estar abiertos a Dios en nuestras vidas. Encontra-mos a Dios mil veces al día, si pudiéramos abrir nuestros ojos para ver su presencia dentro de nosotros y alrededor de nosotros; pero ¿cómo po-demos abrirnos para experimentar a Dios mientras camina con nosotros todos los días? El Papa Francisco sugiere que el primer paso para buscar y encontrar a Dios en todas las cosas es el acto de discernimiento. El discern-imiento cristiano significa que nos tomamos un tiempo para reflexionar so-bre cómo Dios está activo en nuestra vida. San Ignacio sugiere que nos hagamos tres preguntas cada día: ¿ A dónde está Dios hoy? ¿Cómo re-spondí, y a dónde me estará guiando Dios mañana? A través de tal discern-imiento, el discípulo puede ver las cosas pequeñas de su vida dentro de los horizontes más grandes: los horizontes del Reino de Dios.
