CMT-05-001Fibre Optic Test, Commissioning & Reporting3 days

Designed for all skill levels, this course provides all the information required to confidently operate and assess the quality of an optical fibre transmission link. This course will provide a comprehensive awareness of a variety of commonly used commissioning techniques and tooling including tri-band OTDR testing. Attendees will also learn techniques to develop carrier approved commissioning reporting including NBN and Telstra.

CMT-06-020Fibre Optic Splicing & Joint Enclosure5 days

Designed for all skill levels, this course provides each attendee with an opportunity to secure the skills required to confidently install fibre optic joint enclosures used within a carrier network and splice fibre optic cores. Each attendee will construct a minimum of six carrier certified high fibre count joint enclosures. These are chosen to incorporate all the disciplines needed to confidently assemble most joint enclosures available and splice fibre optic cores without causing fault conditions.

CMT-06-044Introduction to Ethernet & TCP/IP1 day

This course is designed to provide individuals with a detailed overview of Ethernet and TCP/IP and associated communications standards and architectures. It focuses on guiding attendees through the OSI layers and how it is useful in understanding data networks. This course introduces attendees to the most common network elements, how they operate and are used in data communications network. It also covers WAN technologies, basic security, switching fundamentals and configuring simple networks. The ‘Introduction to Ethernet &TCP/IP’ course is the first step towards learning TCP/IP and modern communications networks.

CMT-11-220NBN/FTTP Network Construction & Commissioning5 days

Designed for all skill levels this course will provide the attendee with a detailed overview of FTTP (NBN) network construction and commissioning. Each attendee will benefit from multiple learning and training methods employed including slide shows, videos, practical tasks and oral discussions to maximise knowledge transfer and retention.

There are no pre entry requirements for this course and all skills and knowledge required for the skill set will be comprehensively covered during the course. Celemetrix uses a ‘hands on’ approach to training. During our course the attendees will be able to construct multiple carrier joint enclosures including ribbon cable, complete NTD connections complete copper twisted pair and voice connections and install optical splitter modules in an FDH. Attendees will use a range of test equipment including Buttinski, PON power meters, Loss test sets, visual inspection probes and visual fault locators.

Attendees will also have access to lead in modules, power supplies, WDM trays NTU’s power supplies and other appropriate equipment. This will give the attendees a thorough understanding of the concepts and they will gain the skills required to competently undertake an FTTP installation in the field.

CMT-06-045Advanced Ethernet & TCP/IP2 days

This course is designed to provide individuals with a detailed overview of Ethernet and TCP/IP and associated communications standards and architectures. It focuses on guiding attendees through the OSI layers and how it is useful in understanding data networks. This course introduces attendees to the most common network elements, how they operate and are used in data communications network. Knowledge is further developed to include security, VPN, VLAN, QinQ, QoS and Application layer network and configuration guides. Attendees are also exposed to network testing and fault finding principles used for modern priority based networks.

CMT-13-245NBN Network Designers1 day Designed for people with FTTP network designresponsibilities, this course provides attendees withthe skills and knowledge needed to efficiently designFTTP networks utilising the latest GPON technologies. FTTP is an access network technology used by major carriers including NBN.

Designed for all skill levels this course will introduceattendees to the functionality of each network elementas well as basic and enhanced design and architectural methodologies. Our unique mobile FTTx lab provides attendees with the opportunity to reinforce knowledge learnt through practical exercise and assessment. The outcomes associated with this course are to equip attendees with the confidence needed to design technologically efficient and cost-effective network architectures.

CMT-11-180Advance Optical Commissioning & Reporting2 days

Designed for all skill levels, though an understanding of OTDR principles is highly recommended. This course is designed to provide attendees with the required skills to confidently provide an accurate OTDR analysis report with repeatable results. This 2 day course focuses on an understanding of OTDR trace elements, trace analysis, report generation and automation.With extensive hands on exercises, this course will develop the practical skills required to efficiently generate an optical fibre workbook using reporting automation.

CMT-11-235Ribbon Splicing 3 days

This course is designed for people with previous fibre knowledge wishing to gain an understanding and hands on experience with ribbon splicing. Unlike traditional loose tube splicing, ribbon splicing requires (special) techniques methods and tooling. During this course attendees will be introduced to the NBN type 2 architecture, as well as the joint enclosures used within the NBN.

Attendees will have the opportunity to reinforce their knowledge through practical exercises including the construction of multiple joint enclosures, Warren and brown 2RU 72F rack mount enclosure, FOSC-400D5 (DJL) and the Corning ORS-28 (AJL).

Class sizes are kept small and attendees will have access to all the tools and equipment required to successfully complete ribbon splicing to a standard expected in the field. The skills and knowledge gained throughout this course will be valuable for those working, or wishing to gain employment within the NBN.
