• He underwent gastric bypass surgery later on and lost around 150 pounds.

• This was when his career really started to take off and people finally noticed him.

Ashlee Simpson• She was always the little

sister of Jessica Simpson• Followed in her footsteps

and had one very successful album

• For a time, she was more successful than her sister and was finally happy

The Milli Vanilli Scandal

• An unpopular and unknown band had a hit single, but they did not have the “whole package” to stay successful

• The producers staged Milli Vanilli to perform on stage for them, while they played music backstage. The producers were willing to have someone else get the credit for their song because the band “could never be successful today because they didn’t have the looks.”

• 26 different lawsuits emerged.

Beijing Olympics 2008 Opening Ceremony Scandal

• Yang Peiyi was replaced by Lin Maioke in the opening ceremony of the Olympics because Yang’s face was “not suitable” for the ceremony.

• The reason was for the national interest. “The child on camera should be flawless in image, internal feelings, and expression,” he said.

• “Lin Maioke is excellent in those aspects. But in terms of voice, Yang Peiyi is perfect, each member of our team agreed,” he said.

• Celebrities cannot enter the public or live a normal life without paparazzi publishing them with headlines like “Celebrities without makeup-GROSS!”

• This is one of the reasons celebrities feel like they have to look great all the time, no matter where they are going.

• Even if most celebrities claim they never look at the star magazines, they know what they are saying and strive to look perfect every time someone takes a picture of them, just in case.
