Each year, The Jim Pattison Group Personal Achiever Award is presented to OFG team members from retail and the office that stand out as shining examples of excellence in their commitment to service, innovation, leadership, helpfulness, and teamwork. Congratulations to our 2010 winners for achieving this honour.

Andrew Heitmann, Assistant Operations Manager at Save-On-Foods, Williams Lake has a diverse background and leadership experience, and has enjoyed success as a cashier, video manager and shop steward, earning praise and recognition for his commitment to doing what’s right every day. With a well known commitment to building a strong and positive working environment, this achiever’s efforts greatly benefit his store and community. Congratulations Andrew!

Renee Lebeau, from PriceSmart Foods in Langley is a senior member of the store team who’s known for embracing new technology and being a champion for continuous improvement. In addition to providing excellence to customers in our drug store and grocery areas, Renee lends a hand training and hiring, always with the customer in mind. Congratulations Renee!

Front End Senior Specialist Shawna Heise, from our Summerside Save-On-Foods store in Edmonton is a team member actively involved in leading her store to be a great place to work and shop. This team member brings excellence to health and safety projects, community support initiatives, team member engagement projects and customer service experience. As a shop steward, she balances integrity and business success, benefiting the entire team. Congratulations Shawna!

Ian Abernethy, OFG’s Manager of Store Equipment and Maintenance, has a well-earned reputation for his steady focus on continuous improvement, savings, efficiencies and team member satisfaction. He’s always going the extra mile to ensure equipment is sourced, housed and maintained to keep stores equipped to OFG’s best advantage and his unwavering commitment to excellence has led to measurable business improvements year after year. Congratulations Ian!

WOW of the Year AwardsAt OFG, we value world class service that is positively outstanding in every way and we encourage all team members to provide service that consistently meets and exceeds our customers’ expectations. Once a year, an OFG team member receives the 10K gold President’s Award pin for providing positively outstanding service. In addition, an OFG team award is presented to a team of people who’ve worked together to deliver a WOW service experience. Congratulations to our 2010 honourees.

The 2010 Wow Team of the Year Award was presented to the pharmacy team at Fleetwood Save-On-Foods. This nomination came to us from a customer who cares for both of her elderly parents. She told us how this team has made a real difference in her life and her parents’ by going that extra mile every time they visit. She credits Pharmacy Manager, Alistair Palad with making recommendations that have made her father’s condition almost completely turn around – she says he’s smiling again, thanks to the team.

The 2010 Wow of the Year Award goes to Shayne Roe at Overwaitea Foods in Kimberley. Shayne is known for paying close attention to the needs of customers in his store, and was recognized for going out of his way to make sure that one particular customer was taken care of, by rescuing her and her children when their car broke down in the cold and driving them home.

This is just an example of the special customer service that Shayne gives each and every day while working in our Kimberley store.

In addition to our Store Leader and Business Leader of the Year Awards (featured on page 1), 2010 Leadership Excellence Awards were presented to individuals for displaying outstanding leadership qualities and achieving distinguished results in their areas.

Winners in this category were: Douglas Tucker, Regional Manager, Save-On-Foods; Ted Pigeon, Store Manager, Save-On-Foods Hart Highway - Prince George; Dan Hansen, Store Manager, Overwaitea Foods Burns Lake;

Mike Liebe, Banner Merchandiser; and Ben Harrack, Store Manager, Overwaitea Foods Fort Nelson.

Special Achievement Awards were presented to Wayne Currie, General Manager, Supply Chain, for the successful transition to a new state-of-the-art perishables warehouse facility at EVP and Mark Law, Store Manager, Williams Lake Save-On-Foods, for empowering his team to deliver great business results. Congratulations to all.
