2018 - TEAMS OF THE YEARCelebrating 12 years of bringing you

“Teams of the Year” across every divisionTwelve-years-ago, the managing directorLuke Hosie, was innovative and decided tobring out “Teams of the Year” across all divisionsof the Adelaide Footy League. He believedplayers across every senior grade deservedthis honour, and not just division 1 footballers.Luke approached the SAAFL about the prospectof working together in bringing out “Teams ofthe Year” across every division of the league.The SAAFL refused to support these teams andquite ridiculously they refused to endorse theconcept. Still to this day, the SAAFL still lack theforesight to reward players across the league.Unperturbed by the lack of any vision shown bythe SAAFL, Luke pressed ahead anyway, andassembled players and coaches of the day, topick “Teams of the Year” across all divisions.

That winning formula from 12-years-ago is stillstrong today, as 154 players and premiershipcoaches across all grades are rewarded everyyear, for their outstanding seasons.That selection criteria from 12-years-ago untilnow, hasn’t changed. Selectors each year areeither current players or coaches. We only haveselectors who have played the game, and arecurrently involved in the division they select.This year, only 12-years-late, the Adelaide FootyLeague have decided to ‘borrow our idea’ ofpicking a division 2 “Team of the Year”. Finally,the league have acknowledged our ideas are best.With 7 teams selected, we offer congratulationsto all 154 players and the coaches chosen. Youhave earned your selection, with outstandingperformances during the 2018 season.
