CELEBRATE RECOVERY (CR) BULLET POINTS

• CR is a Christ-centered recovery program.

• CR is an amazing self-awareness ministry for people with Hurts, Habits, and/or Hang-Ups.

• CR is based upon 8 Principles of Recovery centered on the Beatitudes of Christ. (Matthew 5:3-10)

• CR is a safe environment for people who “are not perfect” to share life with.

• CR offers tools to recognize what is going on in your life, and how to connect that to Christ.

• CR also offers a 12-step program structured around biblical teachings.

Team. This team will assist in distribution of The Purpose Driven Life books. We also would like to actually offer the step study course on site. You may also want to send an encouraging note to inmates in jails and/or prisons across the country. We need women to write to female inmates and men to write to male inmates. Write to one inmate or as many as you like.

HERE’S HOW TO SIGN UP Prayerfully ask God to guide you in selecting the area where you will serve. Then, visit newspring.org/crvolunteer and fill out the Celebrate Recovery Volunteer form. It’s as simple as that!

A Celebrate Recovery Leader will contact you and give you the steps to take to begin serving.

We want to thank you for taking another step in your recovery by serving others. With your help, we will be able to reach more people in our families and communities who are struggling with hurts, habits, and hang-ups.

CELEBRATE RECOVERY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

SET-UP / PUT-UPTuesday NightsArrive early (5:45 p.m.) and help with set-up or stay after and help with take-down (9:15 p.m.); serve every week, or every other week.

AUDIO / VISUALTuesday Nights

• Visual.Run PowerPoint during Large Group or Newcomers 101, or to help develop various PowerPoint presentations for special trainings, workshops, etc.

• Lights.Program light board/run lights during Large Group.

• Audio.Work with the worship team. Practice nights in addition to Tuesday nights.

CR PRAISE & WORSHIP TEAMTuesday NightsVocalists and musicians are needed to help lead worship during the Large Group meeting. Practice nights in addition to Tuesday are required.

FIRST IMPRESSIONSTuesday Nights

• Greeters.This is a front line ministry! Come early and be the smiling face that welcomes everyone, especially newcomers. Help greet and facilitate movement into and around the Chit Chat & Snack time. Ensure newcomers get to Newcomers 101.

• Ushers.This is a front line ministry, too! Welcome our guests from the foyer into the main meeting room. Helping them find a seat, especially if crowded and if the meeting has begun. Aide in collecting the offering for the night. Help guests transition from Main Meeting to Open Share Group rooms as needed.

• GuestServices.Provide generic information about NewSpring Church, services, KidzWorld, The Wire, The Hub, Prime, Groups, etc.

• Security.Provide a presence of safety and medical emergency response. Approved through church background check.

• Medical.Individuals must be minimally certified in basic first aid and initiating a medical response through 9-1-1.

PRAYER MINISTRYTuesday NightsJoin in to pray for the teachers and leaders, participants, and all of the meetings (6 p.m. sharp). Or join the weekly team and pray for the prayer requests turned in each meeting via an email prayer chain.

COFFEE / SNACKSTuesday NightsCome and help serve coffee and drinks before the main service (5:45-6:45 p.m.) Help with Chit Chat & Snack time serving coffee and desserts (8:15-9:30 p.m.) and get to know people. It’s a great first step in service and fellowship.

KIOSK ATTENDANTMirrors NewSpring Service TimesMake sure the kiosk is tidy and literature racks are filled. Stay in area in case anyone has quesitons about CR. Arrive 30 minutes before service time and stay until 15 minutes after service starts. Go back to position 10 minutes before service is over. Stay in spot 15 minutes after service.
