edge technology to produce globally acceptable, competent Civil

Engineers who will be in the forefront of planning, designing and

executing Civil Engineering innovations for the benefit of man-

kind

VIVEKANANDA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY

Vivekananda Institute of Technology was established in the

year 1997. It is spread over 25 acres, located in Gudimavu

with greenery in the campus. The college is managed by

Janatha Education Society (JES), Rajajinagar, Bengaluru.

JES was established in the year 1972 and has 14 institutions.

Vivekananda Institute of Technology (VKIT) is one of the

esteemed engineering colleges in Karnataka. VKIT offers

quality based education aimed at building skill, expertise

and knowledge among its students in the area of technology

and design. Focusing on innovation, continuous

improvement and with service orientation, the institute is

committed to making a difference to all of its stakeholders.

faculty and learning resources, producing some of the best

human capital in the country. The college has digital library

facilities and good collection of books. The college provides

separate hostel for boys and girls in the campus.

Courses Offered:

• Civil Engineering

• Computer Science & Engineering

• Electronics & Communication Engineering

• Information Science & Engineering

• Mechanical Engineering

OBJECTIVE OF WORKSHOP

Construction of infrastructure facilities such as roads and build-

ings on hill terrain and protecting the same against land slides

due to natural hazards is a challenge to the Civil Engineers. This

workshop deals with the safe construction practices of structures

and methods to minimize the damage due to landslides. Experts

from Science (Environmental & Geology) and Engineering

(Geotechnical and Structural) having vast experience in aca-

demic, research and consultancy will discuss on the trivial issues

a Civil Engineer faces in the real time. This workshop will be

interactive and rely on real case studies and examples benefitting

the designers, practicing Engineers and students to fulfill the cur-

rent day requirements. Civil Engineers need awareness and

knowledge of the advancements made in the field of Civil Engi-

neering. This workshop provides a detailed introduction to the

new technologies in Civil Engineering.
