Colorado Department of Transportation Water Quality Control Training TerraLogic Sustainable Solutions (TerraLogic) is the Prime Contractor for the statewide Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) Water Quality Training Program. TerraLogic is in a teaming partnership with Wright Water Engineers, Inc. and Aqua Terra Environmental for program development and training. A major part of the training program is the development and implementation of the new CDOT Transportation Erosion Control Supervisor (TECS) Certification Program. The goal of the new TECS Certification Program is to improve the understanding and execution of stormwater protection and management practices at construction sites that are compliant with CDOT specifications and regulatory requirements. In the final analysis, the main purpose of the training is to improve erosion control practices in the field in order to protect and maintain our finite water resources. The training is comprised of two training sessions, a classroom and a field training session, that are approximately 8 hours each. The TECS Classroom training involves a comprehensive discussion and review of CDOT Specifications related to water quality. The field training session is held at the CDOT Water Quality Field Training Area. This facility provides the necessary “hands on” field erosion control experience that complements the TECS Classroom training. The target audiences for the TECS Training are prime contractors and CDOT employees. It is a requirement that all prime contractors who wish to work on CDOT projects must have one TECS Certified employee on site. CDOT employees who oversee prime contractors in the field are urged to take the training classes. Maintenance representatives will have their own TECS training. Project Date: September 2013-Present Project Contact: Tom Boyce (Project Manager) and Tripp Minges (Project Coordinator)
