n BASEBALL & SOFTBALL @ BRHSSpend the week learning from award winning BRHS Varsity Softball and Baseball Coaches Nicole O'Leary and Chris Glenn. This camp is designed for athletes who are still learning the fundamentals, as well as, players looking to improve and strengthen their skills. Campers will be placed into groups based on age, ability level and experience. Emphasis will be placed on hitting, fielding, throwing, catching, sliding, and pitching mechanics. Each day will allow athletes to work at different positions while playing on our high school turf. Players should wear proper attire and bring necessary equipment such as a glove, helmet, and bat.

n CYBERSECURITY CAMP @ BRHSDo you have a student that aspires to be a programmer? Is your student creative, investigative and likes to solve problems? The Air Force Association CyberCamp is a new addition to CDA’s program offerings. This camp, run by BRHS Computer Science Teacher Archna Ashish, focuses on preparing students for a potential career in Computer Science or Cybersecurity. Students will learn computer security basics, how to find vulnerabilities, and will work with cutting-edge technology to make the computer world safer. This program also prepares students who may want to participate in the US CyberPatriot Competition at the high school level.

n JUST DANCE! CAMP @ BRHS

Beth Bokop, BRHS Teacher/Choreographer and Dance Instructor Cierra Edwards will be leading this week of fun. Campers will learn the latest Broadway, hip hop and lyrical dance moves. No formal dance training or experience is required to enroll – just a love of dance. Instruction includes a comprehensive warm-up, across-the-floor work and choreography. IMPORTANT!!! The class is divided by grade levels, so older students will receive more progressive and cutting edge instruction.

n FULL DAY CAMP @ PMESThis camp is designed and supervised by Ms. Connie Johns. Organized games, activities and projects are supervised by teaching and childcare professionals. Students will get to play, spend time with friends and have fun in a safe, nurturing environment. A nutritious snack is provided in the afternoon.

n EXPLORE THE OUTDOORS @ NCP, Duck Island & Crystal Lake Drop off & Pick up at NCP

NO BEFORE CARE AT PMES FOR THIS CAMP!

This camp is designed and supervised by Mr. Poole, BRMS Technology/Woodshop Teacher. Crystal Lake has been added along with Duck Island as a destination for this very popular camp – which introduces our youngest campers to nature and outdoor survival. At NCP, students will learn to construct a shelter, make a fire and understand other life sustainable skills, including camouflage. Fishing and casting techniques will be taught along with studying trails, leaves, trees, insects, vegetation (edible and non-edible) and observe small animal behavior. The week concludes at NCP with a hike and a BBQ.

nFUN & GAMES CAMP @ BRHSThis program is designed by High School Physical Education Teacher, Bill Lloyd and is based around the most popular sports and games among students in this age group. This camp is a scaled down, age appropriate version of the Ultimate Sports Camp that is offered to 4th-8th grade students. Girls and boys of all skill levels will participate in a friendly, fun, safe environment. Games will include Soccer, Pillo Polo, Gaga, Tag Games, Relay Races, Raquet Ball, Floor Games and much more. The focus of this camp is to create a love for cooperative activities in our youngest participants, and encourage each student to have an active summer.

nIGNITE YOUR SPARK! @ BRHS

Come join Camp Fire NJ and BRHS Teens On Fire to ignite your inner spark! Learn about yourself and the community through daily service-learning projects. Camp Fire NJ’s unique programs offer not only the opportunity to give back and serve our community, but also provide a rich, nurturing environment for our youth to THRIVE. Our programs are led by trained staff and teens and are intentionally designed to build communication and goal setting skills, gain leadership experience and self-confidence, and help youth understand the importance of a growth mindset. Your child can expect to earn at least 10 hours of service along with leadership and mindfulness training all while learning how to be the best that they can be!

n UKULELE CAMP @ PMESMr. Kim, PMES Music Teacher and designer of this camp, is an accomplished pianist, guitarist and player of the Ukulele. The Ukulele (deriving its name from the Hawaiian word for “leaping flea”) is a much easier instrument for young hands to manage than a guitar and is currently in a wave of worldwide popularity. Ukuleles will be provided for each registrant. Students will bring them home for the week to practice their basic chord sequence, strumming and more. Class size is limited, so don’t delay.

n ULTIMATE SPORTS CAMP @ BRHSDesigned by High School PE Teacher, Bill Lloyd, boys and girls of all skill levels will participate in a friendly, competitive, fun and safe environment. Games will include Ultimate Frisbee, Flag Football, Mat Ball, Racquetball, Whiffle Ball, Basketball, World Cup, Ultimate Handball, Ultimate Soccer and more, with tournaments usually ending with a campers vs counselors game! This camp will have access to the turf complex, dress comfortably and bring plenty of water!

n WOODWORKING @ BRMSDesigned and supervised by Mr. Poole, BRMS Technology/Woodshop Teacher. Woodworking is a creative and fun co-ed camp which focuses on basic woodworking and project construction. Using a variety of techniques, the camp introduces new students to the art of woodworking and carpentry, as well as building upon the skills of the more advanced students. Whether you consider yourself a “craftsperson” or not, woodworking has a lot to offer. Students will spend the week experiencing the joy of creating art with the promise of a completed project by week’s end. Instruction will be individualized to support all levels of confidence, talent and skill.

n KINDERGARTEN READY CAMP @ PMES (2 WEEKS)

This two week experience is designed and supervised by Ms. Judy Pesce, retired BRSD Kindergarten Teacher. Children must be eligible to enter Kindergarten in Sept. 2020. Kindergarten Ready Camp raises the bar for instruction of our “soon to be” full day kindergartners. Part of it lies with what is taught - but more importantly-it is how it is taught. This class is designed to encourage children to express themselves through materials, movement and language. Students will be introduced to safety protocols such as bus safety and fire drills. Hallway, restroom, playground and lunchtime behavior expectations will also be addressed to best prepare them for the first day of school.

n WRESTLING CAMP @ BRHSThis camp is led by Jimmy Gill, BRHS Social Studies Teacher and Head Wrestling Coach. The Summer Wrestling experience offers both an introduction to and continuation of the sport of interscholastic wrestling. This camp is for both beginners and experienced wrestlers as well as for both male and female athletes. Each day will present something new as campers will learn a variety of techniques from all the various wrestling positions in addition to the rules and regulations of the sport. Throughout this week students will be able to develop a wide range of skills on top of building both their physical and mental toughness. Personal and sports hygiene will be greatly emphasized and expanded on throughout the week.

Please Note: If your child is enrolled in the 4 week program, please call the office for a discount before registering.
