Coldplay• Viva La Vida is Spanish for ‘Long Live

life’. The genre of this band is alternative rock.

• The band sing about historical and religious elements in there album which is reflected on there CD cover. The font style looks like its been painted.

• The type of audience the band have directed at I think are people who are instrumental and who also like listening to alternative music. The band use many instruments in there music and make a major part of there songs about there instruments which other bands would not use for example a violin, there music is not just based around lyrics.

Enter Shikari• English post-hardcore band. There

CD cover shows the type of music they will produce. Loud and heavier music showing excitement and rebellion. The writing for the bands name is medieval. The pictures seem a lot friendlier then real looking skulls, gives you the feeling that there music isn't just heavier but exciting. The background colours are not dull for this type of band. It reminds me of strobe lights.

• The type of audience this cover aims at is to the adolescent who like listening to music which makes them feel difference and change from the normal person.

Muse• Alternative rock band.• Absolution is the bands third album. This

album appeals to people who have already got previous albums or who have listened and liked the new songs. It’s a change in taste to the audience.

• The cover tells us this is muse and this is our music. The cover is simple but seems like it is trying to take you into the world muse and there music. The cover makes the band look serious.

• The resistance is muse latest album. Again muse try and bring there audience into there world, hoping to bring you into there music. The colours catch your attention, this gives you the feel that the music is feel good music not about life in general, the band seem to want to take you to a different place.

• All albums have the title ‘MUSE’ with two lines, one above and one below as there mark.

• If I bought this album I new I wouldn’t be songs about life and people, and defiantly not hip hop music.

Madonna• Madonna’s genres have changed

throughout her career. Her latest album ‘Celebration’ genre is dance. The Artist despite her age does not wear fashionable items but small pieces of clothing. Her appearance in her videos have her looking healthy and sexy, still being able to appeal to men.

• This album would be directed at the 18 and over's who enjoy dancing to the music in the clubs and appreciate the music. Also appeals to woman as her appearance may give older woman confidence in themselves.

• The album cover is eye catching. Graphic art lookalike. This would relate to her earliest fans and the fashion of her time back in the beginning.

Keane & Prodigy• Keane; piano and alternative rock band.

There album cover is almost cartoon like. The name and cover look like it’s a story to be told. The audience its aimed at is the more mature.

• Prodigy, rave, electronic music. Colourful cover, scary titles and the effect of writing almost like dripping blood. The audience aimed at in teenagers 16 towards adulthood. The title is almost shouting at you the letters are so big, the artist music looks like its going to be loud and big beat by looking at the cover.

Eminem• Relapse is a rap album. The music is

serious but with jokes throughout in the lyrics.

• The album cover. Pieces of him are put back together telling the audience that he is back in one piece again. The cover make his eyes seem like they are looking at you saying this is me. The cover contains no name or stage name, that this album is just him. The background make it look very dark, making the artist look dangerous. The audience aimed for is his followers and to the older teenagers who can relate there lives to many of his lyrics.

Jay-Z & kings of Leon• Hip hop artist. Album cover looks very

modern. The audience aimed for is the majority. Most people enjoy hip hop especially the younger generation. The cover reminds me of the modern new world of fashion and music. The cover does not form to the usual hip hop stereotypes and that’s how i believe this cover is the change in the music and fashion industry.

• Looking at this album cover I automatically think that this well be alternative music, more indie music. This is because of the strangeness of the cover and the colour, the dark background makes its audience no that this is not going to be a fun, pop album.
