Elizabeth Ann Seton is one of the keystones of theAmerican Catholic Church. After the death of herhusband, Elizabeth experienced the Catholic Liturgy
and became a believer of the true presence of Jesus inthe Blessed Sacrament and converted, despite thedisapproval of her family.
She founded the first American religious community forwomen, the Sisters of Charity. She opened the firstAmerican parish school and established the firstAmerican Catholic orphanage. All this she did in thespan of 46 years while raising her five children. She isan excellent model for mothers and teachers!

St. Francis grew up in a wealthy family and had
everything that money could buy. He attended fineparties and had lots of friends, but he often thought thatsomething was missing from his life. He decided to giveup everything he had to live a simple life and teachothers about God. Many people followed Francis andhis simple lifestyle; they are now known as Franciscans.St. Francis loved all of Gods creatures, including theanimals! It is a tradition at many Catholic Churches tohold a Blessing of Pets on his feast day, October 4.

Now that the weather has become a little more bearable, and the wasps have seemed tomove on, we are able to get outside and play on our little playground

and fruits of Fall with games, pumpkin painting, and fun snacks.We wont dress up, but we will have a great day!
Ill have more information next week on the Fall Festival. There will be a silent auctionheld in our Center, and it is a major fundraiser for the school. The proceeds will gotoward the primary playground that is being upgrade d for the big school. (You can t
