DESCRIPTION
Photographics hand in for technical assignment. All about mini-world generation via PS, HDR photography and tilt-shift. (Although I didn't end up using all of these techniques in my final hand-in). This was fun and I am pretty sure I am a mini-world addict.TRANSCRIPT

Proposal Intentions
• Lately I have been researching 'duality' - duality of nationality, (i.e. New
Zealander vs Australian) duality of language, (i.e. English vs. French) duality of
roles (i.e. student vs mother/wife) Because of this I am interested in finding out
about dual meaning in this project, and using these themes to inform the subjects
of my photography.
• My goal was to express duality in a way that others will comprehend and perhaps
relate to.
The strategy:
• The strategy was to research precedents for this theme as well as mini-world images
that inspire me.
• I photographed both at home as well as in Wellington to best express the two
'worlds' I inhabit.
The outcome:
• The ideal outcome would be a series of worlds (or at least two) that clearly
express the idea of duality.

learnt
All of this demonstrated how important getting the 360
degree view is. I went back to square one and started
listing the important things I need to do to shoot:
• Good light;
• 360 degree panorama;
• portrait orientation - to ensure a decent amount of
sky above and the same in the foreground;
• tripod - to avoid the dreaded blur and better chance
at lining about the images in the merge.
• Photoshop skills
