The Tools To Meet Various Density Requirements

The CB-534C has all the tools needed totailor compactive effort with densityrequirements, allowing your operator tomeet specifications in the fewest passes.Some density specifications require youto meet 94 percent one day and 99percent the next. The CB-534C iscapable of meeting those fluctuatingspecifications because of its threevibratory amplitudes. High amplitudeworks best on thick lifts or harsh mixes.Medium amplitude is well suited to 50 mm (2") to 100 mm (4") lifts. Lowamplitude works well on thin lifts andtender materials.

The CB-534C also can be equipped withan optional high frequency vibratorysystem. High frequency can improvecompaction on thin lifts with softaggregates. In these applications, highfrequency can help increase productivitybecause it allows the compactor to workat a faster speed.

The CB-534C can be used in all phasesof compaction, reducing the need for avariety of rollers. The CB-534C iscapable of working as a breakdown andintermediate roller because of its highcompactive forces. When operated in the

static mode, the CB-534C is a perfect fitas a finish roller because of its highstatic pounds per linear inch (PLI). Itsmachined steel drums provide a smoothfinish in this application.

High Frequency Vibratory Systemchanges the frequency from 42 Hz (2,520vpm) to 53 Hz (3,200 vpm). This option isdesigned for special conditions requiringa less energetic vibratory system.Recommended applications includeMarshall mix designs or overlays with ahigh sand content, Superpave mixdesigns with a high aggregate content,Stone Matrix Asphalt (SMA) and open-graded asphalt mix designs, thin layersand mixes with a high percentage of softaggregate (limestone).

Dual Amplitude Vibratory System isavailable as a Custom ShopModification. Amplitude changes aremade with a switch on the controlconsole. Custom Shop Modificationstypically require longer lead times.

Vibratory Tachometer displaysvibratory system frequency. It isinstalled on the instrument panel in frontof the operator.

ROPS/FOPS Canopyprovides operatorprotection in the event of machine roll-over or from falling objects. It is the two-post type which bolts directly to themachine frame.

Automatic Speed Control (ASC)helpsensure consistent speeds are maintainedthroughout a job. The system is controlledwith a rotary dial to the right of the propellever. Setting the dial at a predeterminedpoint will limit top speed. The operator canthen push the propel lever all the wayforward or all the way back, and themachine will automatically accelerate tothe predetermined speed and maintain it.

Water Distribution Mats help keepdrum surfaces wet in extremely dry, hotor windy conditions. The mats areconstructed of flexible rubber and holdand disperse water on the drum surfaces.They keep the drums clean by providinga secondary cleaning action to removeasphalt particles not removed by thedrum scrapers. The mats can be retractedfrom the drums when not in use.

Coco Matsretain water as it is distributedby the water spray system. The coco matsallow water to seep out of them. Thisprovides a continuous distribution of waterand keeps the water spray system fromhaving to work continuously.

Working Lights illuminate the work areaunder dim and dark conditions. It consistsof of four variable adjustment flood lightspositioned two forward and two rearward.

Ground Speed Indicatormeasuresrolling speed. The analog dial is calibratedin kilometers per hour or feet per minute.

Vertical Exhaust vent is moved fromground level to above operator’s console.This eliminates fumes from blowing nearground personnel or near the mat.

Split Drums consist of two independenthalves that are joined at the center by aninternal bearing with a clutchmechanism. Split drums minimize mattearing that sometimes occurs duringtight turns.
