Ref: Environmental Clearance for 1 x 63 MW Lr. No. SEIAA/TN/EC/1(d)/012/F.No250/2010 dated 14/10/2010.

Dear Sir,

We were issued Environmental Clearance vide the above reference for 1 x 63 MW.

At present the 1 x 63 MW power plant is under operation.

Now, we propose to expand the power generation capacity from 63 MW to 423 MW ie by

installing additional 2 x 180 MW within/adjacent to the existing 1 x 63 MW Power Plant

at Billakuppam Village, Gummidipoondi Taluk, Thiruvallur District.

The land area for existing plant in operation ie 63 MW is 22.96 Acres, and proposed,

expansion will be within/adjacent to the existing land for which an additional land area of

50.04 Acres is required. Hence, upon expansion the total land area will be 73.00 Acres.

At present, the entire make-up water is met from Borewells, for which there is already a

ground water clearance for drawal upto 95 KLD. The raw water requirement in the

existing 63 MW under operation is only 51 KLD. Upon Expansion the entire make-up

water will be met from BorewelljHarvested Rain Water.

Upon Expansion, total make-up water requirement will be 66.5 KLD, which is within the

threshold limit of 95 KLD, the ground water clearance for which is already obtained.

The unit has fall fledged ETPwith 2-stage ROto ensure 100% recycle and reuse of waste

water. The existing plant operates on Zero Discharge, and plant will operate on Zero

Discharge even after expansion.

Even upon expansion the entire waste water will be treated in 2 stage R.O / Mechanical

Evaoprator and reused in the process. There will be 100% Zero Discharge from the unit

even upon expansion.

Green Belt has already been well developed in 5.00 Acres of land. During Expansion

Plan, about 16.00 Acres of additional land will be developed with greenbelt. Greenbelt

has already been developed along the boundary of existing Plant.

The work force in existing operation is 50-Nos, whereas an additional 100 workers will be

required for operation of expansion plant.

We have herewith enclosed Filled Up Form I along with Annexures and Pre-Feasibility

report in hard copy as well as the soft copy in CD to enable take up our case towards

approval of Terms of Reference for the Environment Impact Assessment study, and

thereafter take up public hearing towards issue of Environmental Clearance.
