1. Desire to find a new trade route to Asia.

Europeans were interested in Asian goods, especially spices.

Trade with east were difficult & expensive because Muslims & Italians hold the trade.

2. Desire to earn fame, Glory & Wealth.

As new lands discovered, Nations wanted to claim the land’s riches for themselves.

3. Desire to spread Christianity.
