16th Annual

Page 2: Cattlemens Choice 16th Annual Sale

We would like to invite you and your family to one of the special events in Georgia, the 16th Annual Cattlemen’s Choice sale. It is hard to believe that 16 years have gone by, just think of all the genetics that have come out the Cattlemen’s Choice sale and how those genetics have benefited the Simmental breed. The sale will once again be held at Britt Angus and SimAngus™. Stacey, along with his manager Korey Duke welcome everyone to this sale facility. We appreciate Stacey’s hospitality. If you have not been to this sale please add this to your bucket list, come and view the offering.

This year at the past highly competitive state show the top three heifers were bred by C&C. Many of the sale participants had cattle in that show that did well. Congrats to all breeders and juniors involved in this event. The last 10 years, the Simmental show has been the strongest at the state show in Perry. As you can tell by the cover and all the news sent out by Donna Priest, Georgia secretary, the Simmental breed and the enthusiasm is strong among the membership .The Cattlemen’s Choice has a great set of consistent cattle in each division; purebred and percentage. This year there are several pairs with the ability to make the customer money. As always, the opens are impressive with loads of potential in the purebred and SimAngus™ division. Georgia juniors have done well in the past fourteen years with their purchases and this year should be no different. If you are a Georgia junior don’t over look the prospects here. Also, you have opportunity to select from the national top genetics from flushes, embryo’s and pregnancies. The fall opens are ready to go to the Eastern Regional’s in Tennessee or the Junior Nationals in Iowa so come and make your selections. Of course make note of the impact of some of the young sires of the C&C program, bulls such as Vision, Ignition and the new young sire 20/20. Vision and Ignition are having progeny hitting the ground and attracting attention.

All of the Cattlemen’s Choice breeders are excited about the future of the Simmental breed and their respective programs. Please call any of the breeders involved if you have any questions. If J Drew, Holli, or myself can be of assistance please feel free to call sale week. If you haven’t been to this sale in the past this one is one to put on your calendar. See you in Hartwell at the Britt sale facility. The hospitality is always over the top in Georgia.

• A family line that has stood the test of time. Babe is the stoutest of this mating that we have ever put up for auction. She is a standout from all of her sisters that have sold in the past because she adds a punch to the amount of rib shape and stoutness she possesses. This Built Right daughter is simply a power house that adds bone, foot shape, and lots internal dimension into her progeny. On top of this she has an average of 30 embryos per flush. • Miss CCF Babe B37 is a prime example of what we feel like a half blood bred female should look like. She combines style and balance into a well structurally sound package. The Silveiras Style females have been winning all over the show globe and continue to be topnotch cattle. Having Babe on the bottom side makes her a strong breeding piece. Just think of all the success that has come from Babes full sisters such as Looker, Bandit, Diamond, Right, and many more. A female with some eye appeal with a strong genetic line on the top and bottom side. • Pasture Exposed to Mr CCF Time to Work, ASA#2702066 from 2/10/15 to 6/10/5 • consignor: C&C Farms

• We think that this October female is pretty special. It is honestly hard to find a hole in Dynasty. Here is a female that will not only show, but will add generations of champions, high sellers, and breed leading donors to your herd. When we were breeding for the embryos we had really high hopes that we would get a female like Dynasty. She is long and extended in her neck, has a nice skeletal design, and carries nice center rib for her age. It is really hard to sale one like this, but with Cindy done showing, here she is.• consignor: C&C Farms

• The many time champion Bonnie had many friends during her strong show career. This Vision daughter should do the same on the sale day. Talk about a picture perfect front one third, and add the spring of rib, stoutness and power this female has, makes her a unique sale piece. The Vision progeny have hit the sale rings and have demanded high price. In Hartman Cattle Companies Customer Appreciation Sale, a Vision daughter sold for $130,000 and a Vision son in his bull sale this past February brought $260,000 for 1/3 interest. Miss CCF Looking Ahead

• Stemming from the heart of our operation Miss CCF Sheza Bonnie exemplifies the goals that we have set for ourselves in the Simmental breed. Her days in the back drop may be over but her days of making the “right kind” are just beginning. This two time reserve national

champion female traces back to the ever popular Sheza Looker, who herself was slapped Champion female at the 2009 Simmental Junior Nationals. Bonnie’s progeny has caught the eye of many producers around the country and rightfully so. These cattle take that ground consuming stride we all desire and cast a silhouette second to none. We are offering 3 can’t miss matings that will provide you that final drive caliber female or a herd changing sire prospect.

• If you are looking for a young donor that could easily be a foundation female phenotypically and genetically, look no further. B236 is a full sib to Miss CCF Sheza Bonnie, who collected her share of banners during her show career, and most importantly has become one of our most sought after donors her at C&C. Making a decision to sale a female like Sure Bet was not an easy one. She has been an eye catcher since she was born, and watching her mature into a soon to be cow/calf pair has been a pleasure. Not only does this Looker daughter have an insane amount of rib shape and overall maternal cow power, she hits the ground with such a fantastic back leg and huge foot. She is one that will definitely be a front pasture asset to her new owners’ herd.

• When we flushed Looker to Upgrade we had high expectations. Looker A135 by-passed those standards and has become a favorite around the farm. This is a female that exhibits the ideal size, is complete, with a nice fancy design. A135 has the predictability and proven performance of a well-known cow family. It will be interesting to see what this cow will do in her new owners’ donor pen. With her perfect udder quality, she should be a money maker for years to come.

• This young lady has been a standout since birth, and hasn’t slowed down. The internal dimension, along with her long elegant neck, large foot shape, and perfect structure, has us thinking that she could see quite a few backdrops. A maternal sib by TWCC Trendsetter sold in this sale a few years back and went on to be a North American, Denver, and Sweepstakes champion. • The Jestress 9015 cow has rapidly becoming a star in the C&C donor battery. In the 2015 Cattlemans Choice sale, a full sib mating to Jestress Z263 brought 15,500, and then her natural calf went on to be a sale feature at the 2015 NAILE Simmental sale bringing $10,000. On the show road a Broker being shown by Cindy Cooper, and a Combustible being shown by Morgan McDaniel dominated the Percentage Simmental show in Georgia at many shows they attended. Needless to say the consistency in the pedigree is there. Z263 has the broody cow look, and structure to walk miles and miles. Not to mention from her shoulder up though her neck is flawless. • I have really liked this heifer from day one. She is one of the easiest going heifers I have ever been around and she can convert grass to pounds better than most any female of any breed I have seen. As breeders we always search for those special ones. I think B123 falls into this category. She is moderate in her frame, bold in her rib shape and smooth in her shoulder. She is safe to Hooks Broadway and needs to enter someone’s donor pen after she calves. Make sure you check her out sale day..she won’t be hard to find.• Bred AI to Hooks Broadway, ASA# 2854437 on 11/21/15• consignor: Pickerel Farms

• We couldn’t ask for any more out of a first calf heifer than what America has brought to the table. She is a complete made individual with nice spring of rib, perfect neck and shoulder, and sets her feet down with a nice soft pastern. The udder quality that America has, makes us thinks this young cow will be in production for years to come. Not to mention that the Duracell progeny are some of the most productive females in the breed. You really can’t go wrong with adding females like B153 and natural baldy heifer calf at side to your program.
