Gallop like a horse?
Roll in mud like a pig?
Waddle like a duck/goose?
Peck like a chicken?
Stand still like a scarerow?
Charge like a bull/billy goat?
Stomp like a cow?
Strut like a rooster?

Scurry like a mouse?
Activity 2
What is in the Box?
Play a ‘What is in the box?’ initial
sounds game. With an adult’s help,
find a selection of toy farm animals
(or photos of farm animals) whose

ask the adult to say the initial sound
of one of their names and see if you
can work out the chosen animal!
Activity 3
Mark-making
Fill a shallow tray with flour,
coloured rice or grains. Use your
finger or hold a stick to mark-make
in the tray. Can you write any of the
letters in your name? Can you copy

Changing Seasons
Discuss what happens on a farm at
different times of the year, e.g. if a
farm grows crops, when are the
crops sown and when are they
harvested? Are baby animals born
at particular times of the year? Does
anything special happen on a farm at
Christmas?
P.E.
Friday 3rd July
Activity 1:
Making Bread
Have a go at making your own
bread (see resources).
Activity 2
Making Butter
Have a go at making your own butter
(see resources) to put on your home-
made bread. It’s easier than you
think!
Activity 3
Animal Alliteration
Look at pictures of farm animals.
Can you think of ways to describe
the animals using the same letter
sound as the animal begins with?
For example, a cow: a clever cow, a
clumsy cow. Or a horse: a happy
horse, a hungry horse.
