Greeting and welcome to our April Newsletter and as one season finishes, another one starts for our Winter faithfuls. This winter we see Sunshine fielding their own senior winter team, which hasn't happened for about 25 years. Luke Searle is taking charge of the lads and we wish them all the best for the season. As for the juniors, we didn't have enough kids to fill our teams, but we are pleased to announce that the Western Junior baseball league, which is now officially know as CITY WEST JUNIOR BASEBALL LEAGUE is still going ahead, as there is enough teams with the other clubs getting on board. We have a couple of juniors players for other teams and we will be updating you on that as the season progresses. This league will no doubt flourish over the coming years and we look forward to our Eagles being a big part of it.

For all you kids that are keeping active in your chosen winter sport, we wish you all the best for a good season, and to the parents that may be having a break from all the running around, we hope you enjoy the serenity and that you are getting all those odd jobs done!

There will be monthly newsletters in the off season just to keep you all up to date with any events and news for Sunshine Baseball Club.

This coming summer season we are celebrating 80 wonderful years of baseball for S.B.C.

Our AGM (Annual General Meeting) will be on Friday June 22nd 2018

All members are welcome to come along to our Annual General Meeting. The election of the new committee will take place, as well as having the opportunity to become involved yourself for the coming season.

Our sincere condolences go out to the Rand family for the passing of May Rand aged 84 (Vic Rand’s Mother) and also to Patrick McCulloch aged 87 (Vicki Dornom’s father). Our thought are with both families in these sad times. Kind regards Sunshine Baseball Club and it’s members.

MAY RAND & PATRICK McCULLOCH The first Sunshine Senior winter team has taken to the fields in almost over 25 years. They have their first win under their belts are showing lot’s of promise. The team is a mix of young and old heads and father and son combinations which is just fantastic. We have a couple of juniors also playing winter ball in the new City West Winter League which is great to see, team pic over the page. GO EAGLES !!

During World War II, the U.S. military designed a grenade to be the size and weight of a baseball, since "any young American man should be able to properly throw it."

It is hard to believe, that a couple of these guys are s�ll playing now over 40 years on !!
