Nonetheless, it is surprisingly light and easy-to-handle.Using customary gas cartridges,butane gas refill is as easy as witha normal gas lighter. The electronically temperature -c o n-t rolled ERSA ELS 8000 soldering a n ddesoldering station is suitable for awide range of applications for indu-strial, laboratory and repair work.TheELS 803 H supply unit incorporatesa high-power vacuum/compre s s o runit to make the station i n d e p e n d e n tf rom compressed air supply. Thestation also features an integrated230/24 V mains supply pro v i d i n gconnection of two control units. T h ee l e c t ronic c o n t rol units TCS 800 andTCS 800 D (with digital temperaturedisplay) are mounted to the supplyunit. The temperature of the solde-ring tip can be adjusted on a con-tinuous scale between 150°C (302°F)and 400°C (752°F).

The station’s electronics contro lm e a s u res the actual temperature b ymeans of a thermocouple locatednear the tip of the soldering ordesoldering iron and compares it tot h e set temperature. The operatingstatus is LED-displayed. The sensitivee l e c t ronics adjust the heating energ yto the operating status (idle orload), depending on temperature d i ff e re n c e and heat re q u i re m e n t s .The soldering or desoldering tip isp rovided with an integrated high-resistance connection to the potentialequalization socket.

In addition, the 810 CDJ solderingi ron is extremely powerful, thanksto its ceramic heating element fea-turing a high PTC (PositiveTe m p e r a t u re Coefficient) and 80 wattrating (at 350°C / 662°F).

Since the cold soldering iro n ’s powerdraw is a multiple of its nominalrating, the iron is re a d y for operationwithin a short time.

Outstanding features of the intern a l l yheated ERSADUR long-life solderingtips are the remarkable therm a lconduction and long service life.

The 820 AEJ desoldering iron is fit-ted with a PTC (Positive Te m p e r a t u reC o e fficient) ceramic heating elementwith integrated temperature pro b e .

The solder compartment incorpora-tes a heat-resistant glass tube andh o l d e r. A knurled screw pro v i d e seasy and quick removal of solderg a t h e red in the solder compart-ment. The device is galvanically iso-lated from the mains supply bymeans of a safety transformer andoperates at a low voltage of 24 V.

The electronics control provides forz e ro crossing energy supply. A po-tential equalization socket providing ah i g h - resistance connection to the de-soldering tip (or soldering tip) is in-stalled on the front of the control unit.

This socket ensures easy inte-gration of the desoldering iron (orsoldering iron) into the potentialequalization of the workplace.

The low-voltage electrical heatingof this device, which is mainlyemployed in dental engineering,offers safety-related advantagescompared to those operating withopen gas flame. The light andeasy-to-handle modeling stick witha short handle/tip distance allowsfor accurate and untiring work.

ERSA solder baths consist of electrically heated melting pots fortin/lead and similar alloy solder.The high-capacity ceramic heatingelements are exchangeable andmounted to the pot. They feature a thermal insulation towards thee x t e rnal sheet metal housing.

For the T 02, T 03, T 04, T 05, T 06,T 07 and T 25 solder baths h a l fpower operation can be selected.

E R S A Soldering Tip Care

ERSADUR soldering tips have beendesigned for continuous operationand high quality. The special pro c e s sto achieve this was developped byERSA and is protected by a patent.ERSADUR soldering tips are gal-vanically plated with an iron coa-ting which is then shielded againstoxidation and corrosion by a layerof chrome. The heating element of

the soldering iron is protectedagainst overheating and prematurewear thanks to perfect heat transfer.Provided that the ERSADUR long-life soldering tips are carefully tendedthey can have a clearly higher ser-vice life. The following rules haveto be kept:Long-life soldering tips shouldalways be coated with solder as

o t h e rwise they become passive andno longer accept solder. In this case,the tip can be re-activated with fluxand solder. To do this, wrap fluxcore solder around the solderingtip and heat the iron. Furthermorethe hot tip should be cleaned re g u-larly with a moistened sponge.For spare sponges, please seeprice list, page 36.
