(over 900 years).
•Located in the English county of
Berkshire.
•Built on more than 13 acres.
•Built of bagshot heath stone.
•First built in 1066 by William the
Conqueror.
•Edward IV started constructing St.
George ‘s Chapel in 1475.
Monarchs who were buried
at Windsor Castle:•Henry VI died 1471.
•Edward IV died 1483.
•Henry VIII died 1547.
Facts of Audley’s
Castle•Named after its owner John
Audley.
•Three story tower.
•Built in the 15th century.
•Located in Northern Ireland.
•Includes a Castle tower and
bawn.
Facts of Edzell Castle•Built c. 1520-1610 by David
Lindsay , 9th Earl of Crawford.
•Built in Angus, Scotland.
•The original tower was a motte
and bailey design castle.
•Originally built to guard the
mouth of the Glenesk.
•In 1553 a west range was
added.
•In late 16th century the north
range was built.
•In 1604 the Pleasance or walled
garden was added by Sir David
Lindsay.
