DESCRIPTION

Case Study - Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) - Integrated Marketing Our client As a result of RBS’s acquisition of NatWest, in 2002 the invoice finance arms of the two banks – Royal Bank Invoice Finance and NatWest Commercial Services merged to create The Royal Bank of Scotland Commercial Services. The Client’s Challenge A new company with a new name meant a new brand. In response to the brand proposition ‘Invoice Finance. Sorted’, we were asked to devise and implement a new creative strategy. Crucially, the creative route needed to provide a framework for execution across communications to a range of audiences (each needing differing benefit messages), fit within rather than alienate the overall RBS Brand and be delivered fast and efficiently. Our Solution The team quickly generated a wide range of initial ideas and the chosen route was honed into a final creative solution – ‘Tools’. Using original photography and simple but effective headlines such as ‘Invoices paid on the nail’, the creative strategy fitted the very direct brand proposition and provided the flexibility to meet the needs of the different audiences. It also allowed for ongoing development following the brand launch. The implementation phase involved us developing five new brochures, a website, direct mail materials and a National and Business Press advertising campaign to launch the new brand.

Invoice finance. .

It’s the smart way

Invoice finance.

From the specialists

Invoice finance is the modern form of

business finance. It can transform your

business by turning your unpaid invoices

into working capital. To help you expand.

To help you take control.

The way it works is straightforward. You

get up to 90% of the value of your unpaid

invoices. Immediately. Then once the

invoices get paid, you get the remaining

amount, less the small charge we make

for providing the service. Simple.

Unlike other more traditional forms of

finance, such as an overdraft, the capital

injection you receive has no limits and it’s

not a one-off payment.

And importantly, if your client is already

banking with someone else, they don’t need

to switch banks to make use of our services.

We’ll work around whatever suits them.

We are specialists in invoice finance and we

concentrate all our efforts on providing you

and your clients with a professional service.

We understand the funding requirements of businesses, large and small, with

modest or ambitious plans. And we know how our invoice finance services will help

your clients achieve their aims.

We work closely with many professional advisers but we don’t – as many companies

do – say we’re something we’re not. Like a ‘champion’.

What we do claim is that we get the job done.

Of course, if you need to arrange a full finance solution for a client, we’ll be happy

to help. We’ll introduce you to our colleagues within The Royal Bank of Scotland

and NatWest and work with them to tailor-make something to suit. But that’s only

if you want us to.

Invoice finance.

Helping you to help them

We recognise that your clients have spent

time building relationships with their

customers so we tailor our collection

service to match the way they work. And

because we operate from a network of

offices we understand local issues and can

make decisions swiftly.

It’s our approach

that really sets us apart

We don’t – as many companies do – say

we’re something we’re not. Like a ‘champion’.

We are specialists in invoice finance and we

concentrate all our efforts on providing you

with a professional service.

But this is probably what you’d expect from any invoice

finance provider. At RBS Commercial Services it’s our

approach that really sets us apart.

You don’t need to switch banks to make use of our services. But if you do ask

our advice on a mix of business finance, we’ll be happy to help. We’ll work with our

colleagues within The Royal Bank of Scotland Group to tailor-make something to

suit you. But that’s only if you want us to.

Our specialist team will sort out exactly

what you need. We understand the funding

requirements of established businesses that

are keen to grow and we know how our

invoice finance services can help you achieve

your aims.
