Case Study Mechanical and Electrical Commercial & Industrial Division Project Aston University Library, Birmingham The Brief This is the main library at Aston University, constructed in the 1970’s it is a 4 story building covering 6400 sq meters. The refurbishment of the Library was planned over 2 phases. Phase 1 of the project commenced in summer 2010 and covered the refurbishment of the ground and first floors as well as toilets to all the floors. Phase 2 carried out in 2011 applied major works to 2nd and 3rd floors along with comprehensive mechanical and electrical central plant.
