Interrupting Mules
The major form of transportation within the Grand Canyon is causing major erosion problems on the trails.
The park service is working on an environmental assessment of the mule operation.
They say people who walk the trails do not do what the mules do.
Officials say that the large amount of erosion to the trails is not due to nearly 4.5 million yearly park visitors.
The bad mules

The mules caused erosion from running through the Grand Canyon in big packs or groups.
Biomes
The Grand Canyon biomes are desert and woodlands. The desert biome is a sandy barren field of nothing. The woodland biome has plenty of trees.
Drastic Air Pollution
Including the Grand Canyon, in many of our national parks you can’t see far because of the pollution in the air .
The biggest sources of air pollution are transportation and industry. Industry creates smog which blinds the area. Fires create smoke that also blinds the area.
Littering

People are riding boats in the Grand Canyon. They find a place to anchor and they litter while they are there. That is how they are polluting the area.
